It's funny, because not long after my parents moved here Mom was telling me about two couples who lived down the street. They swapped wives. One guy's wife moved in with a man across the street. His wife moved in with the other husband. That was back in the 1990's. So, in a way, I guess this place has always been a little odd. OB Food: I bought some nice fresh veggies at the farm stand for $7. Zucchini, crookneck squash, small potatoes (both red and white), a small cabbage and an eggplant. ![]() Jill |

I've mentioned this before, if I was living in the 1930's I'd be a union organizer, but living in the present, I have no use for the thieves. The blue collar manufacturing jobs paid a good solid wage that made America strong, but at the same time foreign competition started bringing in lower price merchandise the auto workers we paying janitors big bucks. Those making a decent wage were spending money but wanted better prices. We demand cheaper goods and the lower wage countries on the Pacific rim gave it to us. First Japan, Hong Kong, later Korea and China. It started out with cameras, then stereo equipment and moved along to good quality automobiles while the Big 3 made junk. I've owned mostly GM cars and some Ford. Every one had to go back to the dealer for adjustments within 30 days of purchase. I'm on my fourth Korean car and only one had to go back for a minor issue after 50,000 miles. That is also many miles out of warranty for US cars. Who is to blame for our present situation? We have seen the enemy and it is us. Pogo. |

It would make me ill. Specifics would be nice. It's so easy to say she isn't trustworthy. Makes you sound smart, doesn't it? Lay it out, side by side. Prove that she is less trustworthy. That Trump is a better human being. The GOP has spent millions and millions and millions of my tax dollars and years and years of government time trying to prove she is guilty of something or other over a period of 30 or 40 years. Nothing, nada, zilch. Trump has 3600 lawsuits, bankruptcy after bankruptcy, obvious multiple infidelities, clear evidence of deliberately bilking people, suspicious connections with countries and entities that are not friends of the US, plus he has no experience of any type of governing, has a dangerous mind set toward use of our military, can't control his mouth or temper and is a flat out habitual, big whopper liar. Have you followed through to see whether any of his proposals are achievable, legal, within his province, or doable? He has not idea of what is already being done. His staff and party admit he has no desire to listen or learn. He just wants to do what he thinks up in the morning. He's said he will operate as a CEO and assign the presidential functions to others. yeah, Hillary is a really bad choice all right. Janet US |
