I am inclined to think that most of the produce is grown with the same basic methods, the same fertilizers and pesticides. Some of it looks prettier. I get most of my produce from a local discount grocery store. Their produce is always good, and it is much cheaper than the other local stores. The biggest difference in appearance is in the peppers. They rarely have the big plum symmetrical red peppers. Instead, they have the gnarly looking ones that are tapered and twisted. The do not make nice looking rings, but if you are dicing them they serve the purpose, and they are less than half the price. |
