The most fun is to "bully the bullies", they start crying like little girls all over the place when they eventually receive their "just desserts"...in fact I ran a couple of them off of Usenet entirely...and simply by using their *own* rotten words *against* them...!!!

I don't know how old they were, I typed in your address and hurricane
Matthew damage for the city, that's all, and no I'm not a stalker, easily
found when checking on your safety, same with Jill and her street. Glad you
both were.

I really like the sounds of those... although they may be too
addictive. I'd go for the savoury mixture.

Grin, no it wasn't. She might think about getting a simple type where
the minutes roll over but you pay as you go. Nominally these can be
10$ a month or so (or they used to be, might be 15$ now or something).
She'd only need it as an emergency backup and a comfort if driving
around and something happened.

I seem to recall she said something about reception issues on Dataw?
She might be limited in what types she can use there.

Dunno who to attribute this to:

Cordless phones stop working the minute the power goes out. I also have
a CORDED land line. It was working perfectly the morning the hurricane
came through. The telephone went out Saturday afternoon after the storm
was well past. It was not restored until the power came back on on
Tuesday afternoon. My Internet access is not tied up with my phone service.

There ya go. I rememebered something like that on the towers and
reception.

LOL, last time I used a payphone locally it was at 7-11 and we'd just
moved into the house. We used it to arrange for phone service install.
The tech was being an idiot and wasting our time by telling us how we
should be using some other payphone brand because it cost less. Yo
idiot, I'm on foot at the nearest payphone so quit wasting my quarters
and start setting me up for an install!!!

Thats what we have today.

Ah, there's the correct attribution.

I do not *only* have a cordless phone. Cordless phones do not work when
the power goes out. I have a corded phone which was working just fine
for hours after the power went out on Saturday morning. My *corded*
landline didn't go out until Saturday afternoon.

What do you mean Gary didn't have options? That's a strange thing to

Of course I worried about you and Ron! I saw all those reports of
Hurricane Sandy and people drowning in their basements. Piers washed
away. Hurricane Sandy was a badass storm. It was scary.

Dont worry Jill,

Short version, I added that Gary was also in trouble but with a much
shorter alert that our area might get hit. Virginia Beach was being
told over and over that it woild be a 'non issue here' but in fact, we
still have a few places using Kayaks to get about as of today.

You took a longer power outage. I'm sure the storm was not fun there.
Some folks deliberately trimmed out that we hadn't heard from Gary yet
and as usual for here, the fight was on.

Oh yes, the Club did open up as soon as the streets were pretty much
cleared. Time to sell burgers on Kaiser rolls!

I and most of my neighbors were lucky. Lots of storm debris but no
flooding/storm surge.

Glad to hear you're okay, Gary! There was no storm surge here, either.
Just a lot of wind and lots of debris to clean up in the yard. I sat
around with a bunch of books to read during the 4 day power outage.

That's pretty much the way I feel about it. If you abhor meat, stop
trying to make fake meat out of a conglomeration of ingredients that
pretend to be meat. Just eat vegetables and be happy.

Reading all this after the fact, it does seem weird. I don't know that
anyone "hates" Gary. I certainly don't. I have no idea what this
animosity is she spoke of.

It's going to be a bright, clear day today. That's nice. Still lots of
yard debris to deal with.

Nope, everything is electric. I was without power for four days which
isn't all that bad. I cooked on a Weber kettle charcoal grill once the
wind died down. I had the presence of mind to bake a pan of biscuits on
Friday night, before the storm hit. I woke up to a power outage but I
had buttered biscuits for breakfast.

I think I can say, nobody understood the 'animosity' accusation.

There was some concern voiced here about their Kaiser roll supplies.
Given the number of lunch specials that featured them, I assumed that
they keep a vast store of them.

I have dealt with my fair share of vegetarians trying to push faux meat
products and saying they taste just like meat. They don't tastes just
like meat. Meat tastes like meat, so if you want something that tastes
like meat, eat meat. I have eaten in vegetarian Indian restaurants
that serve dahl and other legume dishes that are high in protein and
spiced up to taste good. They see no need to pretend the food is meat.

So don't you think it might be a nice idea to just drop it now???

You`ve been lucky, when it swept past Cape Breton, Sydney took a major
hit although they are not normally in a flood plain. I saw one shot
last night of what had been a living room with everything floating in
it, particularly books from the floating bookcase. Looks like many
can not go back because of the oil and sewage mix and as one remarked,
although ultimately there will be disaster money, that doesn`t pay
their hotel bill during that time period. There are also two schools
which can never be used again.

Now this weekend, they are to get heavy rain and wind due the fringes
of Nicole, so I confess my thoughts are more with them.

I call "OH, TOTAL BS" there, Jill. Nobody sleeps soundly with cat while
a big hurricane eyewall is only 20-30 miles away at 4am in the morning.
Now that you're fine, you are pretending to claim it was a yawn-event.
Yeah right. Try again.

You are so full of shit. There ya go, you're back....I'm picking on you
now.

As anyone with a functioning brain can plainly see that by Gary's
fercocktah description there was no way to assume a *partial*
basement, under only two ground floor apartments. Obviously the
spiteful moroons who bashed my math also trimmed the description...
but there it is for the nerds with pocket protectors and slide rules.

Ok, kids. LOL at all the debate. Originally, Steve said that he thought
I might live in the basement part of the building and I would certainly
get flooded out.

I wrote back to remind him that I lived on the 1st floor above the
basement. I never dreamed it would take off from there with all the
guessing. LMAO.

Then with Sheldons odd math, dividing basement space with 24
apartments. WTH? lol!

There are 6 buildings, each with their own entrance (and street #
address). Each entrance gets you to 4 apartments. Two first story ones
and two 2nd story ones.

I call this one long-ass building because they are all connected and all
are serviced by the same water heater, also main gas line and city
water line.

Forget the 2nd story apartments for this...I'll talk about only the 1st
story ones. Just know that all 12 first story apartments have a 2nd one
above it. All 24 apartments are the same exact size too...all are 1050
sq. feet (not counting balconies or patios)

Below are some pictures to explain it all:

---------------------
Map.jpg:
4 buildings have no basement and 1st floor is on ground level
2 buildings have a basement and are 6' above ground level
The left basement is underneath 2 first floor apts.
The right basement (mine) is also underneath 2 first floor apts.
The left basement has a laundry mat in front then access to the
rest of the basement.
The right basement is all basement with 2 giant water heaters.
Anyway, two of the 6 buildings have a basement underneath so they are
higher.

http://www.hostpic.org/images/1610141938340111.jpg
--------------------
Building01.jpg. - here's a cheap panorama of the entire building area.
I live on the left side about halfway down the
street.

http://www.hostpic.org/images/1610141905210093.jpg
---------------------
MyApt.jpg. - On the left is my building entrance. Go up the steps
to my front door. Those bottom windows are my 2
bedroom windows.

Next to that you see the next part of building
with no basement. They are on ground floor.
Those 1st floor apts have a patio at ground level
not a balcony with railing like I do 6" up.

---------------------

The end?

I'm an avid reader too but I still missed my fan and background noise
with the television.

I still love your comment about 4am when the storm was right the
"We were snoozing and heard a branch fall. Went back to sleep"

heheh I'm sure my 3 pics have settled all the conflict here.
Feel free to argue amongst yourselves still.
