It was about $25 fer 3 gals. That's a tad over $8/gal! My mom had one of those kerosene heaters. About 40K BTU. Almost new. I couldn't give it away. If yer gonna keep no. 1 coal oil around, get some Alladin lamps: http://www.aladdin-us.com/ I was gonna buy one, but after seeing the price of kerosene, here in CO, I changed my mind. nb |

Incandescent and halogen emit in a much broader range of wavelengths, and looks much more natural. My husband is a Licensed Quantum Mechanic (actually, has a degree in electro-optics and lasers). He isn't crazy about LED light, either. Cindy Hamilton |

It's a pretty good insulator. Standing in the shower doesn't sound nearly as relaxing as sitting in the hot tub with my husband, drinking a lovely beverage and talking. Cindy Hamilton |

I thought "coal oil" was the Limey term fer kerosene. Janet? "Coal oil" is long out of use, I've never even heard the term used here. Kerosene and paraffin are different grades of the same petroleum product used for different purposes; heating boilers (furnace, US) burn kerosene and more refined paraffin is what I used in an old oil lamp for power cuts. I also use paraffin to fire up my flame gun. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Br1ZPJ8oQxY Janet UK |
