Turns out the big one, it fits in the oven but I'm thinking there isn't great air flow room left over. nancy |

Here's an example: I wanted plastic containers of a specific dimension. Those things are often labeled as to their volume (e.g., 10 quarts). To know whether it will fit in my closet, I need to measure it. Cindy Hamilton |

Yesterday I was changing out the inner and outer tie rods in my 96 Dodge Dakota. The old tie rod had a length of 15-5/16" Today, I work on the other side. The burning question is whether it will be longer or shorter. I give it 50-50 odds. Those electronic range sensors are super bitchin'. I was going to get one but what the heck am I gonna use it for? |

Do you measure curtains so often that you always carry a curtain measuring tool with you? I'm also wondering if this need to measure curtains is age related or whether it's something one is born with. Each to their own, of course. |

They already do, have been used by contractors for years, but bulky to carry for shopping plus batterys need changing... a 6' tailor's tape is no larger than a pack of gum and weighs maybe two grams. A few times I've been seen using my tailor's tape and have been asked by gals to measure them for a new bra. |

Yes, because once you've hung up your curtains, they'll hang there, minding their own business, for many years. You'll be measuring other things in the meantime, I guess. Until it's curtain time again. |

Got tired of having to go downstairs for the big tape every time. When all is said and done, though, the measurements were on the packaging, I didn't know how big the pans I had at home were, that's the (non)problem. I would have gotten the pans anyway. nancy |

Sounds like you've never been out somewhere and wished you had a tape measure. Mine lives in my very small purse and I've carried one all my adult life, so it's not age related. You claim to live out in the middle of nowhere, so shopping is a chore that you have to plan ahead. I live in a big City and shopping can happen on the spur of the moment here. -- Avoid cutting yourself when slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold them. |

Most of them have accuracy and ease of use issues that tape measures won't have. -- Avoid cutting yourself when slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold them. |

I don't know how he lives with himself knowing so many ferrets need a home. I've lost many critters to illness but I've never been so selfish to turn any away. I even feed the skunks... they are really very beautiful critters who mean no harm, they are just trying to live. Costs nothing to feed a skunk, just a few pennies worth of cat food that would other wise get dried out and be wasted. I feed the possums too, the young ones are cute... I don't care that they eat my cat food or bird food. I only care that they stay on this side of my creek and don't go out to the road. As long as I'm living here I've seen no roadkill, I feed the critters hundreds of feet from the road. |

LOL to your two comments! :-D Sheldon uses cash only. He's probably one of those *OLD PPL* that pay in cash and after slowly counting out his small bills, then he digs out a handful of coins from his pocket and slowly hands the cashier one coin at a time to make exact change. Those are the only line holdups I've ever encountered. Nobody I've ever seen goes through a line and forgets their PIN number or has insufficient funds in their account. Sheldon In Space!@ In his other pocket (or his so-very-*** man purse) is his tape measure, a precision scale, and blueprints of his house. |
