Fer crissakes... do you really expect something good to come from the
man who bragged about being able to get away with groping women because
he was rich and famous? Do you expect something good to happen with a
man who has a record of not paying bills using the excuse that he didn't
like the results, or claiming he could not pay and offering pennies on
the dollar?
The man is a buffoon, and now he is your man on the international stage.
He makes you all look like idiots.

Yeah, he sure was. He backed the Islamist "freedom fighters" in
Afghanistan and helped plant the seeds for al Queda.

Fortunately he had handlers in the background that stopped him from
doing some spectacularly stupid/dangerous things.

Amen. I thought they'd reached rock bottom when they re-elected Bush Jr.
but this is an even bigger joke. Keep them coming please, Americans!

You may be right. It should be an interesting next four years. Sadly,
we had poor choices and Joe Sixpack gave the Washington Establishment a
very large middle finger.

One glimmer of light, it is not Hillary. I wonder how many voters voted
against her versus for him.

Who do we blame for the poor choices?

You call that a glimmer of hope. In my world, it would have been the
other way around. She seemed rather innocuous compared to someone who
most of us here thing of a a complete ****ing asshole. The guy is

Is there also a female equivalent of Joe Sixpack? Something like Cheri
Gumboot?

He was a much better actor than most people gave him credit for - he
played the role of of President rather.
My father knew him, back when Reagan was a Democrat...

I remember some footage of him when the Queen was in the USA and he
was POTUS. They were going up some steps and he grabbed her by the
elbow to steer her, she was furious and brushed his arm off quickly.
Well here we are many years after and the Queen is still amongst us
(even if he thought an old lady needed help) and he is long gone!

Chris Christie? Isn't he under an indictment for Bridgegate? Sure, a
great AG, as he could experience both sides of the law.

I pretty much loathed him when he was in office, but as I've aged and come to my senses, I'd personally rate him right up their with both President Roosevelts and Harry Truman on my "Greatest 20th Century Presidents List"...

His relationship with Maggie Thatcher was serendipitous, the world was pretty lucky that they lived in the same era and get so much done together...

His handling of and relationship with the Soviet leadership, especially Gorbachev, was truly brilliant. He had forces on both the right and the left urging him to do their wishes (Kissinger, Nixon, his own cabinet and advisers, the Democrats, the Nuclear Anti - Freeze movement, European and domestic public opinion...). He stood his ground, and in the end, he prevailed....and history has proved him correct. And Maggie was one who supported him in all of this...
