It doesn't have to be merely 'meat and three veg' though, I know mine certainly are not. mind you, that was largely true in Aus back in the 1970s. Ya need to be a little more open minded about ingredients and cooking methods

It's a quicker death but more humane?

Yikes Cindy! Really? That's cold. Ever see the "Twilight Zone" ep..."To
Serve Man?" Hey...they're just humans. Do you think animals don't feel
pain, get scared, want to stay alive?

I have 2 questions for you about this. I'm just trying to understand
your thinking.

1) What harm do they do to your property? I lived in a house for many
years on about one acre of land. I had o'possoms living there (at least
one anyway). Never caused a problem and I rarely saw it.

2) Since you catch them in animal friendly traps, why not just take a
drive and relocate them into a remote area? That at least gives them a
chance to keep on living.

Also, if you are bound and determined to kill them, you should at least
eat them. They might taste good???

A gun shot to the head is a humane way to kill. Drowning is a horrible
way to do it. Ever hear of waterboarding torture which the whole world
condemns as evil?

You're going to have to ask my husband. He's the one determined to
eradicate all of the vermin on our propery.

Some animals are benign. Other carry disease, fleas, ticks and destroy
food in gardens. A few will destroy property.

Maybe. You can also be taking them to a place where they will starve to
death. Or they may be a predator that kills off the natural habitat.
In some cases, the animal never should have been introduced and they
upset the ecology of the area.

We're spoiled. We eat a limited number of animals that come in parts
from the supermarket. In some areas of the world they eat rats. A few
in the parts of the world will still eat squirrel, opossum

Agree a gunshot would be swift. Not sure that waterboarding, designed
to torture, not kill, is a good comparison. It is as much psychological
as physical. We need a volunteer to do both and let us know if the real
drowning is the same as the torture.

Hopefully, you don't believe in a God....and you are correct.
How dare we dicount other life forms?

Imagine you bite into a hamburger, a hook sets in YOUR thoat, and you
get yanked out of the restaurant only to be shot in the head then cut up
an eaten. Or walk through the woods and you step on a leg trap that you
can't get out of. You lay there and slowly die in pain of starvation or
hypothermia until someone comes along and skins and eats you.

Or maybe whoever catches you alive will be humane and drown you.

Who decides which lifeforms are "vermin"?

Vermin is simply a term applied to some animals by human beings. Does
that animal contribute or detract from a persons end?

I'm sure an owl does not consider a mouse to be "vermin". More
likely, an owl considers a mouse a veritable "meal", so all owls
should be welcome in this newsgroup.

So, what? That gives you the moral imperative to kill them? I know
ppl that carry "disease" and will "destroy property". Should I shoot
them on sight?

Poor reason to end any animal's life.

All speculation on yer part to justify yer arbitrary determinism.

......frogs, crickets, snakes, spiders, etc.....

I recently watched a WWII documentary that claimed the Ruskies once used
dog hides to make officers boots. Wanna villianize the ppl that saved
our bacon on the Eastern front? Apparently, Trump loves 'em.

I probably am a high-functioning sociopath. The fact that I don't
care that you say that no doubt confirms it.

Don't forget my (simplified) ranking of life forms:

Me
My husband

<light years of space snipped>

Everything else.

"just animals", that comment makes you just a POS, actually you're a
special Piece Of Shit. the kind it's dangerous to step in. I'd drown
you with no regret, only I'd bury you up to your neck at the sea shore
at low tide... or better strap you into a glass tank and pay people
50ข to pee on you your head until you drown.... most folks would pee
on your head for free.

That depends on your definition of vermin.
Simple Definition of vermin
: small insects and animals (such as fleas or mice) that are sometimes harmful to plants or other animals and that are difficult to get rid of
: very bad, unpleasant, or offensive people
Source: Merriam-Webster's Learner's Dictionary

The Hamiltons fit nicely into the 2nd definition... they need an alibi
for murdering harmless critters for pleasure.
