Default Apple makes an overpriced oven

Apparently, all that knowledge of cooking you've acquired over the
yrs, means diddly. Jes plunk down $1500 fer Apple's new "smart" oven:

<https://techcrunch.com/2016/11/15/the-june-oven-makes-the-art-of-cooking-a-science/>

.....and you will become the Alton Brown, Julia Child, and Yogi Berra
of the kitchen. No doubt all yer appliances will work together to
embarrass the crap outta yer incompetent cooking skills, proving you
know spit about culinary issues. It's kinda like spending $250 ona
Next thermostat cuz yer too stupid to tell if you are cold or hot.

LOL. Who needs a "smart" thermostat? I can tell whether or not I need
a blanket. I don't need or want the ability to turn on the HVAC when
I'm 10 miles away from home because I already did that. Do I need a
video doorbell? Nope.

Good grief already. It's ridiculous the distances some companies will
go to dumb-down appliances and tools so folks won't have to use their
critical thinking skills! Or is it that some companies want to cater to
folks who have limited intelligence when it comes to their wallets, much
less their culinary (in)abilities?

Why are there supermarkets? Why is there prefab food? Same thing.

Just a nit, but the oven isn't from Apple, it's from another company
entirely, called June. They use a vendor who makes equipment for Apple,
Quantum Computers.

Aside from that nit, yes, the whole concept is indeed ludicrous.

The day I need a $1500 toaster oven, a 'smart' oven, OR an oven
with a freaking camera in it, is the day I QUIT cooking (AND maybe
eating)!

Oh, boy! Another "Internet of Things" device that hackers can use
to launch Distributed Denial of Service attacks on companies.

If the car makers get their way, Apple and Google will be shut out of the future.

All of the above, plus I assume Apple's market share of the phone sector ain't what it used to be. Just another way to separate bored consumers from their money.
