I'm all full o' dat ol' Xmas spirit (101 proof!), so get TF! outta my
way!! ![]() No, I hadda post this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXh7JR9oKVE I know it's old hat, but I love it. It's also prolly staged, edited, etc, but I still like the idea, even tho I'm not really very spiritual. Tugs at my latent childhood-church-days heart strings. Today is dedicated to late-baked Xmas gifts. Big ol' mess o' Pandolce Genovese, from a recipe provided by Shelley. http://www.thefreshloaf.com/node/410...dolce-genovese Thnx Shel, and a Merry Christmas to you. ![]() nb |

I know what dead meat he would be if he didn't get it in time, so I obliged. The morning brought my middle grandson and his wife, fresh off the red eye flight from Alberta en route to her mothers - they are only here six days so have to spread it around, will see them again Xmas Eve. Starting to feel a bit like Xmas, well the side of it I like, the people. |

I'm at the office today (on my lunch break at the moment). It'll feel more like Christmas tonight when I make up my shopping list for the week, and put all of the ingredients for our "traditional" (our tradition) Christmas breakfast on it. Cindy Hamilton |

It is prepared the day before and cooks in the oven while the "boys" are tearing into their presents: <http://www.food.com/recipe/breakfast-casserole-50089> Although we substitute Velveeta for the cheddar, don't use the Worcestershire sauce, and sprinkle in a little cayenne. I admit I didn't think much of it when I first started celebrating Christmas with my in-laws, but over 30 years it has grown on me. We make a half recipe for the two of us, and that usually lasts two breakfasts. We serve it with fruit salad (any fruit that looks good this time of year, possibly including frozen raspberries, cut up, mixed together, and rested overnight). Because the breakfast casserole is so rich, we're thinking about grilled (barbecued) shrimp or fish for dinner on Christmas night. It's supposed to be 36 F on Christmas, which is well within my comfort zone for cooking outdoors. Cindy Hamilton |
