I had to skip my Christmas Candy project because they work I've been doing (contracting out, etc.) has taken so damned long! But it's finally basically WORKING now!! Three days before Christmas!

I still use analogue, also digital sources at home, digital only in
the car of course.

Don't you put your files on a USB memory stick or did you install a
second hand system?

If I'm not mistaken, you can put 256 mp3s on a CD for your car/van player.
I have never put more than 120 mp3s on a disk but that gives me hours of play
while travelling.

That depends how big the mp3 files are. You can make one so big it
doesn't fit on a CD.

I installed an Alpine CDE-153BT head unit which plays regular audio CDs and MP3 files as well, and I burn write once, read many times CDs with MP3 files off my computer's hard drive.

When I had my old 1994 Caravan with an Alpine head unit is it I was driving to Pennsylvania from STL for a kayaking trip with a buddy of mine and I had told him how I had this cool sound system so being your CDs, etc. So when I picked him up he starts showing me all the CDs he bought so I told him well, let's finish the CD that's in the system and when we can play one from our collection!

We drove all the way to PA and my MP3 disc never looped back to the beginning! ROFL!!!

I have some on my computer's hard drive, but no none in my car.

And I had to turn my 12 inch subwoofer down because it was too loud for the rest of the music! It's KICKIN! Concert volume and CLEAR! Very cool! I have 4 Alpine R series 6x9s and two PHD 5.25" drivers and separate tweeters! Two amps, one 100W per to the 6x9s and 75W to the 5.25"s and tweeters!!

All these wishes for a few Christmas days seems unbalanced. You want to
have a bit of fun on Jan 7 and 8 too.

I'm sorry to inform you that punk hasn't been cool for at least a decade.

Good luck on fixing up your ride. I've been working on a 99 Passat sedan that someone gave to me. It needs some new speakers. I got a couple of replacements from Crutchfield. Beats me how they can send me the speakers for a total price of $36.

I have to take out the ABS control module and check the circuit board. Those things are troublesome. I also have to replace various electrical and trim pieces. Luckily, VWs with 1.8 turbo engines are so trouble prone that there is a healthy market of third party suppliers willing to sell parts for cheap. My goal is to replace most of the car with Chinese parts.

It hasn't been cool since 1978. Besides, the American take on punk is
humourless and misses the point.
