Back in the day, you could walk into any restaurant, diner or lunch counter and ask for that and get: - mayo - ketchup - mustard - tomato - onion - lettuce To get cheese, you ask for a cheeseburger with the works. The restaurants, etc usually served fries and pickle slices on the side. I'll add some cooked mushrooms too if I have them here. Onions - sometimes cooked and sometimes raw I like them both ways...raw usually. As for cheese - swiss is my favorite. I'll be cooking 2 burgers today as a matter of fact. One for lunch and heat up the other for dinner or lunch tomorrow. :-D |

The usual is grainy mustard, sweet pickle relish, sliced onion and tomato, and dill pickle on the side. |

When I was working afternoons I often went to a Chinese restaurant that made a great War Bar. I used to get a doggie bag and bring it home fore my wife and son. One time I made the mistake of eating the leftovers for lunch and they were upset. They had been looking forward to it. > |

I don't know what a 'War Bar' is but in my home, if any of us get something out and it's more that we want to eat, it comes home and is fair game. -- |

It is delicious. My son still loves the stuff. Last fall we picked him up at the Buffalo airport and on the way home we stopped at that restaurant for and had a dish of it. --- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. https://www.avast.com/antivirus |
