Anyone try them?

I'd like to give it a try once in a while to get a quick to prepare meal
and try things I'd probably not make on my own. I just don't like the
idea of them shipping without a specific order for the week.

The problem is, they want you to sign up for a subscription with weekly
shipments. I'd like to order maybe once every month or two. Hello
Fresh says you can stop a shipment five days ahead, but I don't want to
have to remember to stop the shipment every week.

I haven't, but my daughter has tried Hello Fresh. She's been pleased
with them.

Dagnabbit, I forgot to ask my stepmom this very question today. I'd
seen a "Hello Fresh" box (IIRC) or some such service when I visited this
afternoon and meant to inquire then. It'd be interesting to find out
what she and my dad thought of the food with regard to quality,
quantity, convenience, value, etc. When I speak with her tomorrow, I'll
try not to forget to ask. I'm curious, too. On the other hand, perhaps
the "Hello Fresh" box is just something they had on hand from some other
circumstance unrelated to food and cooking (?).

OK, I rang my stepmom earlier this evening because I'd forget by
tomorrow. Anywho, I asked a few questions about the 'hello fresh'
service my folks have recently used (no, it was not an empty box <G>).
Anywho, end of story is my stepmom was very satisfied with the service
and would/will use it again; my dad not so much (but that's two
personalities there). Stepmom did say the 'directions were screwy' (as
in "recipes"). The value was "worth it" overall. The foods provided
were good quality, so that's nice. The selections of foods/menues were
limited, however. AND, this service "Hello Fresh" is NOT for folks who
are picky eaters <---- like me <VBG!>. HTH.

I'm going to try Hello Fresh. First order will be delivered next
Monday. First order was also $40 off so little risk.

Some night it will be nice to have a minimal prep meal, but it is also a
way to try things I'd not normally make. If we like it, maybe it will
be a once a month treat.

I guess it's the ads, last week I commented to Ron that it looked
like something that would be fun to do just to try something
different, as you say.

I've tried it and Blue Apron is wonderful, but you're out of luck if
you're a big eater. I decided that I enjoy grocery shopping and
cooking in general too much to do it now. If I was incapacitated or
confined to the house for whatever reason, I'd do it. I also have
in-laws in their mid to late 80s who aren't interested in cooking
anymore. They should move into a retirement home, but have yet to be
convinced it's in their best interest.

My son and DIL love to cook, cook for relaxation etc, and like Hello
Fresh boxes for week-night dinners.

Both work 12-hour days in high pressure jobs and are bushed by the
time they get home; first in cooks a proper dinner from fresh. HF makes
it as relaxed as possible. It suits their busy lifestyle to have
everything ready and waiting to get started on a fresh tasty recipe
without even having to shop, or think about "What can I make tonight,
have we got any X, where are the lemons" etc.

Agree. It is not going to be a regular thing but there are nights
~ I don't feel as energetic. Last night dinner was on the table in less
than 10 minutes. It was the rest of the meatloaf and potatoes I made
Saturday. I'm thinking maybe once a moth or so it we like it.

Better for them are the fully cooked meals available. Just nuke them
and dinner is ready.
