Used to be an icecream place here, "Uncle Harry's."
I always loved their 'apple pie icecream'
They did "mix-in" with candy too.

My super addition was....
- one scoop of apple pie ice cream
- one reeses peanut butter cup chopped and mixed it
- put on a waffle cone

This was the "dessert of the Gods" for me.
I would run an extra 2 miles a day just to justify
buying one.

I've looked in grocery stores for years for the
"apple pie ice cream"

This week, a few days ago, Edy's ice cream was on sale
for $2.50. I planned to buy Vanilla flavor but then I
saw.....(here is where the clouds part and the angels
in heaven are singing, "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" )

They now have an Apple Pie flavored ice cream. I bought one
for sure. It's so good. Not sure if it's as good as the
other but next trip, I plan to buy a box of waffle cones
and a Reeses PBC candy bar.

You can blend/sprinkle vanilla ice cream with apple pie spice blend...
or top vanilla ice cream with canned apple pie filling... but
regardless for me apple pie with peanut butter and/or chocolate is a
major TIAD... I don't even want apple pie a la mode with chocolate ice
cream.
I also think sugar cones are much better than waffle cones.

Ice cream with apple pie? No way. Cheddar cheese is the way to go. If
you have to have cream, go with a good vanilla or whipped cream.
Cinnamon ice cream could work. I cannot envision myself ordering apple
pie ice cream.

I have to agree with that. That is the only kind I buy for the house.
I rarely buy ice cream cones because they are outrageously expensive
these days. To make matters worse, the ice cream parlors around here
charge 75 cents extra for a sugar cone. WTF? They cost about 30 cents
more per box of 12 in grocery stores here. That's close to 20 cents a
piece, and that is the retail price. If you get a regular waffle cone
there is no extra charge for the cone. It's bad enough that they mark up
the ice cream so much, but to screw you an extra 75 cents for the sugar
cone is enough to keep me away. For the cost of two cones there I can
buy a half gallon of decent ice cream and a box of sugar cones and have
a dozen of them.

It seems to me that there has been previous discussion here about cheese
on apple pie, and some people were appalled at the suggestion.
Cheddar is not my favourite cheese, but I love it on apple pie.

Those of us who maintain a strict separation between savory and
sweet were probably the ones who were appalled.

Adding in the candy was the store's suggestion. I liked it.
I did buy some Reeses PBC today but not waffle cones.

I think it tastes pretty good. Wondering what else you put in your mouth
to get that nasty film. Oh and I like Cool Whip too. Each to their own.

I know the problem. It doesn't contain any hot peppers, right?
