I always find cell phones to have terrible sound. I try to only
whatsapp or text with them. I also never know out off which part of
the cell phone the sound's supposed to come.

Yes, the rare phone call I made with a cell phone the other day, was
in a car, not driving myself. That doesn't help with the sound. I
could just hear someone answer, so I said what I had to say and hung
up, hoping the message had come across.

I might add that using a cell phone while driving here is illegal,
unless it is hands free. Mine is truly hands free. I have voice
activated dialing. If I want to call home I just push a button on my
steering wheel and when prompted say "home" and 9 times out of ten it
calls home.

It's a Samsung Galaxy 3. We don't have any cell service where we live.
But sometimes I comb my hair and go to town, where they do have
service.

identical to a speaker phone. There is a speaker in addition to the one
at your ear. I can set my phone down and have a conversation.

Exactly...even my el cheapo Tracfone dumb phone has a speaker...Steve needs to keep up with these 21st century tech advances...

I have had several cell phones and they all had the hands free speaker
option. My current phone and car have blue tooth, but that is separate
from the speaker option.
