![]() http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/...omes/99425688/ We've said it here before. I don't want someone choosing produce, meat or dairy for me. And the delivery service wants to work within 3 to 4 miles of the Costco store? I don't know about your store, but around here the stores are located within mall/business districts and 3 or 4 miles isn't going to get to a residential district. I don't see success in this. It's all going to be made possible by automated delivery services. It will happen because it's technologically possible. http://www.komando.com/tips/323474/3...y-delivery/all |

Usually not upscale areas, and not too likely to be paying the premium for home delivery. But if I was a Costco member, and if I was within 3 to 4 miles, I might use the service just to avoid the insanely long checkout lines in the local store. My impression of Costco (again, I'm not a member, but I was in one once) is you don't really choose your produce anyway. It's all in a large bag or crate and you buy the whole lot as packed. |

I know that in big cities such a thing is not possible and delivery or shopping with a shopping bag is the only thing. Here, the old folks that can't really get around anymore can call a taxi who will take them to the store and wait for them to trundle around in the motorized shopping cart. I can't imagine being tied to delivery. Janet US |

What you say about the main drag is true here also. Costco or a mall or Home Depot, Walmart are not located on the main drag. They are out a ways so they can have huge parking lots (probably shared with other like big business. Janet US |

Meat and produce were good quality, prices were more than a supermarket but it was not gouging. Stores like that have disappeared. We had regular customers and catered to their needs. I put the canned goods away for a blind couple so they knew what was in the cans by location. Another customer ordered once a month. She paid by check. The check would bounce and the following week I'd go back for the cash. |
