Default Good Friday supper

Twice a month the local Lions club does fish and chips in the park
where they operate a kitchen for special events. Tonight was the opener
for the year and we decided to get some. Apparently half the town had
the same idea had. I got into the pickup line while my wife went to the
payment line. That probably saved us about 20 minutes, but it took us an
hour and a quarter to get our take out dinner. Luckily it was a nice day
and we ran into lots of friends to chat with while we waited.

Nice (except for the wait). I remember going to fish frys when I
was a kid.

We had take-out sushi. Not that we had fish because of Good Friday;
DH called me at work and asked me to pick it up because he didn't
feel like making even a salad for himself. I made salads when I
came home (romaine, thinly sliced carrots, radishes, and cucumbers
dressed with 35/35/30 (or thereabouts) lime juice, seasoned rice
wine vinegar (sugar and salt), and canola oil.

I'd had a rough day at work, so while I was picking up the sushi I
picked up a beer. It had probably been over a year since I'd had
one. Shiner Bock. The runner-up was Labatt's, but they only
had it in a 16-ounce can. The Shiner Bock was a 12-ounce bottle.
