heheh (for Wayney)

No sorry Oph. That was me word-changing just as a joke. Many here don't
find that funny but in other newsgroups, it a routine thing to do.

I do know that so many people grimace about that kind of thing. Not much
sense of humor here.

Forgive me, it was just a tiny tease that others should smile and say
nothing about. not here though.

for wayne again.... heheheh

Every week are BOGO sales of various things at the 2 stores that I shop
at. You never have to buy two though...just get one for half price.

Raisin bread here is often over $4.00 so I only buy one when it's on
half price sale.

We do get that kind of sale, but not with the kind of frequency I read about
here.

Anyway, the one you make yourself will be SO much nicer)

We had a thing here in Germany, maybe someone knows that: MAUS
(Münsteraner Apple User Service) mailbox (we joined that in the early 80s).
In certain newsgroups, it was common to alter quotes - we referred to
those who did that as "EQF" ("Elendiglicher" [elender; spiced up a bit
;-)] = "miserable" quote forger)... It looks a lot like EOF (end of file)..

I don't care much for Johnsonville products, they're not a dawg or a
kielbasa, Johnsonville hasn't made up its mind what it is.

For dawgs I like these, BJs has them in a 48 ounce pack (~$14), I
divide them into zip-locs, 8 per and freeze.

Occasionally I'll go to the trouble of making a raisin bread but
actually I'll make up a double batch of sweet dough and make sticky
buns with lots of cinnamon, dark brown sugar, raisins, sometimes with
walnuts or pecans, and lots of butter. I don't do this often as they
are vrey addictive.

A bakery near me is $6. It is heavier than the store bought and has at
least 2X the raisins too.

Same price for the Asiago cheese bread too. The sourdough is $5.

For just a few down-under dollars, give Johnsonville stadium brats a
try. Quite tasty, imo.

I just remembered you said you had heated one up. How? I always boil mine

I really like the bratwurst and other sausages that I buy from the
sausage shop I mentioned in another post. It is family owned and
run, and all products they sell are made on the premises.

This is their product list, again all made on the premises. I buy a
fair number of their products.

Simple here...just microwave until hot and put on a slice of fresh white
bread.

Thanks Steve, I will try others. I do like the Johnsonville ones though.

What I really want to try soon again is....and I don't remember what is
the best sausage.

This sandwich is where you fry tons of onions and green peppers along
with some kind of large link sausage. Put it all on a fresh Italian loaf
of bread and have tons of delicious food. With salty Lays Classic chips too.

Fresh Italian link sausage. It's raw, in a casing, not at all like
pre-cooked "stadium brats". I generally lightly simmer and then broil
or grill it to finish it off. Served on a toasted bun. Doesn't require
a lot of toppings because it tastes great without a bunch of stuff.

I'm thinking freshly Italian sausage. Kielbasa is entirely too highly
processed for my taste. But maybe not for Gary's. <shrug>

Supermarket kielbasa is pretty nasty and loaded with fat. If you can
find it made locally at a butcher shop or similar you may like it better.

I've never found kielbasa interesting enough to look for in a butcher
shop. Other types of sausages are much more appealing.

There's fresh kielbasa. "Kielbasa" is the Polish word for "sausage".
Granted, in the U.S. it generally means "kielbasa wiejska", which is
a particular type of sausage. Generally, though, you have to go to a
good butcher shop to get fresh kielbasa (biala kielbasa).

I prefer the more common kind. Fresh kielbasa is a little boring
for my taste.

Usually butcher shop kielbasa contains a lot more fat than national
brands, that's what makes them taste good. I prefer the taste of
private Polish butcher shop kielbasa but I don't like all the fat and
especially not the price. Kielbasa used to be poor people's food, a
sausage made with the least expensive cuts of pork, also including
scraps/trimmings.

On Lung Guyland it was a 30 minute drive to Riverhead's Polish Town,
great kielbasa from several butchers but I didn't go often, maybe once
a year when they held their fair... I don't know how they ate all that
funnel cake.

LOL Yeah, that sounded a bit strange (it might work though)

No my giant sandwich is to cook the sausage along with green peppers and
onions and put all on a fresh loaf of italian bread. Then you cut it
into 4ths or so.

Just the sausage and seriously smothered with the peppers and onions, no
other condiments except for maybe some S&P.

That's why yoose two are all alone... no imagination... yoose only
know one boring way to do it. Left over cold fried saw-seege, sliced
thinly into coins makes a great sandwich on a hard roll with mayo,
lettuce, and tomato. Very often left overs eaten cold are better than
reheated... I enjoy cold left over pizza too, and especially cold
congealed left over Chinese shrimp with lobster sauce when I get the
horny hungrys at 3AM... and then I may warm up my little kumquat for
dessert.
