Limited brands covered though. We have some regional brands that are
very good but not tested.

The bread in those pictures already says it all. It's foam with
Chinese hair as an ingredient.

I don't like hot dogs no matter what they are but the others here do like
the Wellshire Farms.

For breakfast I had a Zip Dog which as its origins in the famous Oki Dogs from LA. It was OK but I'm not going to be ordering one of those anytime soon. This is really food for young folks with not a lot of money and want a cheap, high calorie food. The odd appearance of the hot dog means it's likely to be a Redondos hot dog. Those things are red - so red that it's a little frightening. It's a dog only Hawaiians could love.

I only ever had a hot dog once ... If I want something like that I buy
bratwurst.

That's what I thought. If you want a sausage, why not go to a good
butcher? Comparing these supermarket sausage brands is like eating 3
turds to find out which one tastes best.

I know. Even the occasional failure tasted better than supermarket
bread. My wife used to make our bread after I stopped, but she stopped
too

I have had bratwurst, or at least the stuff that is sold it the US called "bratwurst." It's good stuff although a little on the mild side. You're right though - bratwurst is better than a hot dog.

Probably Hispanic hair, given that we're talking about the U.S.

I generally don't like soft bread, but hot dog buns are the
exception. Must be nostalgia or something.

Yes, could be, if they have that industry going.

I wish I had the time to knead, proof, punch down, shape, rise and bake
the way my mother used to, but since I don't I do the next best thing
and use a machine. I had a Westbend that did a good job, but was picky
about the flour/liquid ratio. After years of use it died and I bit the
bullet and got a Zojirushi. Glad I did. I couldn't be happier with the
results, but to its credit, the Westbend did teach me what to look for
in the texture of the dough. I always started it in a food processor
first before moving it to the machine. Not anymore with the Zojirushi.

I do have a Panasonic bread machine but I haven't used it in ages. I bought
it when I had been ill and wasn't able to knead etc.

I don't use it now because I have gone back to No-Knead bread, my husband's
favourite)

I am glad you have a bread maker you are happy with. My Panasonic is jolly
good too and I know that day will come when I need it again, so it lives
safely in my pantry )

A few years ago, I've purchased a machine that's equal to (even the same
brand) that year's best-rated bread maker. On sale, it was 35 Euro then -
now, it's double the price.

I used it a lot then, then my late mother in law got pretty frail and I
didn't have the time anymore - we get pretty good Turkish flat bread here.
But not always!
Therefore a few months ago, I revived the machine - it's a bit cranky
(loud), but as long as it works, I'll keep it. Just made a loaf of
French-style white bread. I use it a few times a week.

Bye, Sanne.

WHAT? You've only eaten one hot dog in your entire life? Must have been
a cheap one. All beef ones are good especially if they have the casings
that snap when you bite into them.

I bought bratwurst first-time-ever 2 weeks ago.
It's Johnsonville "Stadium Brats"
So good. I just heat one up and wrap in a slice of fresh white bread. No
condiments added...I love the sausage taste that well.

Excellent)) You never know when you will need it which is why I hang on
to mine )

When I retired I wanted a big clear out so I gave away a lot of stuff but
the bread maker was not one of them)

Actually, I have been buying a few more things since then ... but hey ho
;-)

For just a few down-under dollars, give Johnsonville stadium brats a
try. Quite tasty, imo.

The only rare time I make bread now is when I get the every few year
urge for a loaf of raisin bread. Then I go to the store to buy one and
see how ridiculous the price is. So I make my own instead.

In my case it's a dietary issue. Low sodium, so store bought is out of
the question. Cinnamon raisin is one of my favorites because most people
who taste it don't miss the lack of salt like they do with most of my
other breads. I've got a good recipe for Hawaiian bread too that's a
close second.

David doesn't like sausages, however he does like really good hot dogs.
We buy all types of sausage, cold cuts, and excellent hot dogs in
natural casings from a local sausage company, all made on the premises.
I'm not fond of hot dogs in general, but those I will eat.

Yeah, it's bigger and really does taste better. Just easier to buy one
though if on sale.

I have never seen those on sale. You do seem to have a lot of sales from
what I read.

You are very lucky)
