Default I haven't done this in a while: Menu from the Club!

Small Plates. They call this "Southern" cooking. I'm typing it as they
wrote it.

Shrimp & Grits
Organic Pimento Cheese Grits, Tasso Gravy. $6

Crispy Chicken Liver Open Face Crostini
with bacon jam, cinnamon onions and Rosemary Gravy $6

Watermelon, Feta & Tomato Salad
Basil, mint, extra virgin olive oil and balsamic reduction $5

Deviled Eggs with Tobiko $5

Savannah Red Rice & Oysters $8

BBQ Pork Belly Sliders
Hawaiian Roll, Pimento cheese, bread & butter pickles $8

Pickled Shrimp & Vodka Sauce $9

Grilled Mustard Maple Chicken Wings
Old bay Dipping Sauce $10

Brunswick Stew (with)
Cornbread $6

Flash Fried Pickles with Bacon Jalapeno Buttermilk Sauce $5

HMMMM. Okay.

Even though I don't eat salad, the watermelon, feta and tomato doesn't
sound bad. The rest of it is mostly "we wish it was Southern".

Crostini is not a Southern thing. It's a pretentious thing. Pimiento
cheese (note the misspelling) does not belong in cheese grits. Chicken
liver on crostini with what? Cinnamon onions? Rosemary Gravy?

Do they even know what Tasso is?! Tasso is a meat should be used in the
red beans dish.

Mustard maple chicken wings with Old Bay...overkill. An attempt at
sweet and spicy, I suppose.

I wouldn't mind the Brunswick Stew with cornbread. Except I have no
clue what they put in that stew. Maybe local squirrels. LOL They
probably add a lot of sugar to the cornbread, too.

So, what's "organic"? The "Pimento" or the grits? Or both?

heh heh..... I'm still trying to figure out what "bacon jam", is.

Overall, a funny menu!

I'm wondering how flying fish roe on deviled eggs is Southern.

It's very funny! I have no idea how they come up with this stuff. It
certainly isn't anything I've ever encountered. I lived in the
mid-south for a lot of years. I've lived here nearly 10. You won't
find this stuff in any local restaurant, that's for sure.

I'd like to know that, too. I had to look up what Tobiko is and
thought: caviar on deviled eggs? Yeah, sure. People around here snack
on that all the time! LOL

Thanks, heyjoe. I didn't go for any of it, but that was my vote, too.
The closest thing I found on that menu that was even remotely Southern
was the Brunswick stew with cornbread.
