I'm German and we have the metric system here - but I am familiar with your
system nonetheless which is pretty good he Just a suggestion:
Why don't you write "6 pounds" in addition if someone wants to use fresh
tomatoes?

That's one foodservice size can. It might be labeled in ounces.

Stewed tomatoes have additional ingredients:

Tomatoes, Tomato Juice, Sugar, Salt, Vegetables (Onions, Celery, Green Bell Peppers), Citric Acid, Calcium Chloride, Spice

You'd have to account for that if using fresh tomatoes, plus cook it
for a longer amount of time.

I've never liked stewed tomatoes because of the sugar.

I was aware of the labeling, but not of the ingredients. Thank you!
Reminds me of a killer catchup-recipe I got which uses "tomato sauce" which
I had to convert myself - but it was worth the effort!

Bye, Sanne.

I'll also add....wait for fresh garden tomatoes and fresh corn too. The
wait is well worth it.

IMO, canned tomatoes are *splat* in any world. Nowhere near the taste of
fresh.
