Default Sesame sticks (snack)

Sorry, no recipe.

I've been thinking about something like this recently. Sesame sticks.
I bought them at a mall as a teenager. Circa 1970's. Similar to this:

http://www.seriouseats.com/2012/10/d...me-sticks.html

No, I don't want to make my own. I surely could, plenty of recipes out
there.

"Combine flour, sesame seeds, cracked wheat, turmeric, beet powder,
garlic powder, and salt in a medium bowl and whisk thoroughly to
combine. In a small bowl, combine water and oil. ...
Divide dough in half and wrap each in plastic, flattening into
inch-thick squares."

I remember buying them from GNC (an alleged health food store at the
mall). No, they didn't come in different flavours. No siracha or
natcho or ranch. They were just very tasty cripsy sesame sticks.
Delicious!

They don't look very good, but if that's the price you pay for using
only real, honest ingredients, I'd happily pay it. Assuming they taste
good, of course.

I once made my own seed/nut bars. They came out ok, but each time I
ate one, I had this urge to tweet.

You can't get those there either? I think every store here sells them as
well.

I've always liked these but they are too addictive:

No kidding. I always liked them too but had forgotten about them.
I was pretty sure my grocery sold them so I looked this morning.
Yep... Salted sesame sticks. 11oz for $2.99.
I debated for a moment then went ahead and bought one.

Now home and constantly snacking on them. Very addictive!

Those look nice but the ones I remember were savory, not sweet.

Around here sesame sticks come in a couple flavors, the plain ones that taste most of sesame, and honey sesame sticks, which I prefer. I can get them at most stores that sell snacks in a bin by the pound and sometimes near the produce, since they're so good on a salad.

My parents ate them all the time. I never liked them. Angela will go through
phases where she'll eat them but I learned not to get them at Costco because
there are just too many for her to eat by herself, and nobody else here will
eat them.

They are really tasty. At my supermarket, they are located with trail mix, other seeds and packaged
nuts in end caps in the produce section. Yum. Not exactly healthy sodium levels and measurable
fat. But delicious.

I looked for them today when I was at the grocery store. There are
plenty of snacks located near the produce section, mostly pita chips and
bagel crisps, sweet potato crisps, things like that. I didn't see
anything resembling the sesame sticks I mentioned. I didn't see any
trail mix, either. I'm not even sure what would be in "trail mix".

Trail mix, usually for hikers and campers, often has dried fruits, various nuts and/or seeds like sunflower
seeds, raisins, M & Ms, etc. it is intended to provide quick energy I believe.

Email me if you want some snail-mail sesame sticks. ;-))

(Sometimes you can find them in the same aisle as snacks, where they also appear in some snack
mixes, like those with garlic toast rounds and pretzels.)

I kind of know what trail mix is, it's just not something I saw or would
want to buy. I did see something in the "bulk" food aisle: a self-serve
bag of dried banana chips someone decided not to buy. Someone just left
it sitting there on the shelf under the dispenser. Made me want to pass
right buy the dispensers of whatever else was there.

Thank you for the offer! That would be nice.

All grocery stores are different. The garlic rounds are thinly sliced
bagels. I did not buy any this time around. I do love them! Delicous!
I love pretzels, too.
