Yes, sometimes that happens. I had it recently with the Panasonic Inverter
MW which most said they liked, but there is always going to be the odd one
that doesn't work so well. That one lasted less than a month.

When I bought mine it was because everyone swore by Bosch. It has been
VERY noisy since just after the warranty expired so I swear *at* Bosch!
I also have a Bosch oven that is poorly designed and can only be used on
the convection bake setting. The ceramic hob is fine though.

See, Graham, I haven't heard of all those problems here.

I will report back if we get any probs with our Bosch, but bear in mind it
is only a few months old.

Yes, I remember you saying. Who knows why people endlessly stalk others in

A local appliance store owner told me his story of why he doesn't carry
Bosch, even though he admits they can be very good. When a salesman was
there trying to sell him on carrying the line, he called their parts
hotline and tried to order a number of common parts, and few if any were
in stock and it would be a long wait to get the parts. He only wants to
carry brands that his service department can fix quickly. On the other
hand, I could get along with a busted dishwasher longer than I could a
busted stove, refrigerator or washer.

We read the reviews and got the dishwasher that was rated second, a
Kenmore Elite, just because the review said Bosch was so noisy. We
are happy with our Kenmore.

Kenmore's top of the line machines are very nice and relatively
quiet. I can't even hear our Bosch when I'm standing right next to
it. In fact, most Bosch models have a small red light that shines on
the floor to let you know that the machine is running.

For those who have a Bosch d/w that they consider noisy, I would
suggest that they have a technician look at it. That isn't normal.

Wayne Boatwright

==

A light shines on the floor showing how long it has left to run. I've had
to look at that at times to check it is still running.

It is very quiet.

Really?

We got our first in the early 70s - kids soon started arguing about
who was to empty it and for a few days I removed the fuse so they
remembered what hand washing and drying was like. Never heard another
argument. I would wash clothes before I would wash dishes.

An on demand tankless is always gas, natural or propane... and is the
least expensive system to operate, it doesn't keep a tankful of water
hot 24/7 yet it never runs out of hot water unless it runs out of
water. I should have installed a tankless on demand unit many years
ago, the savings are spectacular. The only drawback is instead of
having to wait 30 seconds for hot water to exit the tap it could be up
to 45 seconds.

There are 2 of us as well. I wash absolutely everything I use in
the kitchen: dishware, flatware, all sizes of pots, pans, lids,
electric skillets, tea pitchers, coffee pots, etc.. Large and
awkward pieces take up a lot of room. We also use 12 cat food bowls
every day, and I don't believe in overloading.

The sink is only a repository for items waiting to be washed, or for
food prep.

Call me crazy or lazy, I do! :-)

Really?

You must use a lot of dishes, or perhaps you include pots and pans too.

There are two of us and I usually run it every other day.

Do you just put dishes in? I put in everything that will fit .... pans et
al

Since I was laid up when it came, I never saw the instruction book. Anyway I
just asked him for it and I will have a look through it later.

You mean stopper the sink and fill it up? Nope. Renders the sink useless
while I am doing that.

That could be! I do remember potatoes lasting a long time when I was a kid.
They don't now.

Same here. My wife usually does the dishes and we can get two days worth
of dishes into the dishwasher, though we have to hand wash some pots and
pans and utensils in between. If I am doing the dishes I usually do them
all by hand.

I rarely use the dishwasher, perhaps 3-4 times a year, and only when
the plastic freezer storage containers pile up... I find handwashing
dishes for two no inconvenience whatsoever, especially since more than
50% of the time we use paper plates.... we see no reason to use china
plates for a sandwich and we always use paper plates for fried foods,
paper plates majorly suck out the fat calories.. and our used paper
plates do double duty, they feed the cats. Plain paper plates cost
..08¢ each. much less than washing dishes... and are very compostible.

Two people three meals is six dishes. Perhaps a snack adds two more so
now, for 2 days we have 16 dishes, four mugs, a few glasses. Add in a
couple of mixing bowls and maybe pot, spatula, whisk and it is filled.

I don't know how Wayne fills his twice a day, but he mentioned that
everything goes in it. Large pans and pots take up a lot of real
estate. My favorite pan is a 12" coated Wohl and most times I can just
wipe it clean with a paper towel or a swixh of the sponge so it never
goes in the DW.

When I did use mine it was generally run every 2-3 days. But it's small so I
never put anything in there like big trays, bowls or pots.

Wow! We have two cats. Two bowls get washed daily. Those hold the moist
food. I don't wash the dry food bowls daily. They don't seem to need it.
