I have no idea why these salt & pepper shakers are shaped like eggs.
Two sets of them came with the set of Mom's wedding china. https://s4.postimg.org/4g3gna0vh/shaped_like_eggs.jpg For the literally challeged, the holes on the top spell out "S" and "P"! I suppose it's in case you get confoozled when you sit down and ask someone to please pass whatever. https://s4.postimg.org/9g0wv86i5/S_P.jpg Yep, they're egg shaped. Decorated with platinum. This set of Mom's china came with all sorts of odd things. Each table setting includes a tiny little ashtray. Back in the day everyone smoked. Napkin rings. Little juice cups. Also little crystal S&P shakers but they aren't nearly as much fun as the ones with the holes on top that spell "S" and "P". Jill |
