It is the day after out anniversary so would make a nice couple of days away. |

However, since it'll be April 8, it's a crapshoot as to whether we'll see the sun at all on that day. Cindy Hamilton |

Although we were able to book a good hotel room right on the edge of totality (for no high markup) less than one week before the eclipse, I think it was a fluke. Next time I'll make sure we reserve a room at least a year in advance, and plan out multiple alternate viewing points and routes, based on cloud cover and traffic, and be ready to move spots if necessary. We chose Kansas City primarily because there weren't hotels available in any other states we wanted and secondly, it was close enough for us to drive so we didn't have to buy airline tickets. And thirdly, I accompanied DH on a business trip to KC many years ago when we first started dating, so i thought it would be fun to go back to the city that marked the start of it all. -- jinx the minx |

An eclipse happens somewhere on earth every 18 months. The earth is 73% water and most eclipse occur where people are not. You need to get a boat to fix you problem ;-)) Janet US |
