I'll admit I thought the event was a bit over-hyped. At least they had
a dual purpose driving four to five hours from Dataw to Clemson.

The neighbor who took the pics wrote: "I had my camera with long lens,
but no filter, in the ready. I snapped bunches of photos during total
eclipse time and was in awe of the show, in spite of the fact that I was
worrying about camera stuff. The diamond ring €śeffect€ť, where the edge
of the sun ducks behind and then edges out from the moon was most
impressive. The gathered masses at Clemson,... students, parents, and
visitors,... roared both times."
