Plus, most of it it is nonsense.

If I failed to reheat all the foods mentioned, I'd never reheat Red
Beans (any kinda beans), stews, etc, and would be dead from all the
times I have. Besides, who heats up plain celery, then reheats it? I
can recall no such recipe.

For sure, I have reheated celery in stuffing, soup, etc., many, many times.
I'm still here.

Well, celery might be sauteed along with onions and added to a stew, nb.
If you reheat that stew it might kill ya! Ditto potatoes. And don't
you dare reheat chicken! More ridiculous nonsense. As for rice (you
know how much we both love rice heheh) of *course* if you "store it" at
room temp it will develop bacteria. Haven't these people ever heard of
a refrigerator?!

Soups, stews, stuffing... I can't think of a single reason not to
reheaat foods with cooked celery. Unless they'd been sitting out at
room temp for a day or two... who does that?

I guess that can of chicken noodle soup has to be eaten cold then. The
celery and chicken have already been cooked, don't dare heat it a second
time. Or potato soup either (or mushroom, or ...). I'll have to stop
making gnocchi too.

Did you read it? Says not to reheat rice stored at room temp. Who does that?
I can probably think of one person here who might.

Butter lettuce? Who heats that to begin with, much less reheats it?

Potatoes. Again warns about keeping at room temp.

The rest seems to be BS.

I've reheated stew with chicken, potatoes, celery and spinach. Still here.

Agree. I've taken at least 6,000 lunches and reheated some of that
stuff on a regular basis.

Then there's this quote from the article:

"With its high protein content, chicken can cause several digestive
problems if you reheat it after a day or two. The best way to consume
stored chicken is to put it in a cold salad or a sandwich."

More BS. "digestive problems"? I've never had digestive problems
resulting from eating reheated chicken. Not even when it's chicken stew
or chicken & dumplings which (damn) also contain sauteed and ultimately
reheated onions, celery, carrots. I should be dead by now.

Hey didja hear millenials are sacred of doorbells?

Seriously.

I guess when you live in the cellar and mommy and daddy slave handle all
the real world stuff it's pretty frightening to hear a chime go off and
know someone is on your doorstep.

They've become like those teacup Yorky's that celebs carry around - all
tremblely and ill-socialized.

I casually tried to track it down but could only find magazines and
such that had reprinted. I, too, was curious as to who/what had come
up with such nonsense.

I've been hearing about not reheating nitrate rich vegetables for
dozens of years, esp. spinach. I wonder if canning them is bad then.

I don't think the canned soups companys are gonna be put out of
business any tiome soon... I've been reheating all those ingredients
in soups/stews since forever, no problems. I reheat potatoes often...
haven't they heard of hash? The most people on the planet reheat rice
on a daily basis and their population is NOT decreasing. Next thing
they're gonna tell us is reheated pizza kills. I've been known to eat
refrozen melted ice cream with no ill effects. I sometimes leave the
seat up, on purpose, I'm still living! LOL

Celery sits out in the hot Mexican fields for 3-4 months, and then US
markets have the unmitigated gall to sell it as fresh.

Cold baked beans (best if not icky sweet and sloppy runny), white
buttered bread, splashes of white vinegar, shake on some salt and
pepper. Put another slice of buttered white bread on top. Sandwich
of the gods.

It was a staple in the sandwich bar in the office tower where I worked

It's quite a scary world out there. A lot of the kids won't be able to pay for a shelter over their head working most jobs. This will be a generation not in control of their destiny. They are as a generation lost. My guess is that people not wanting to go outside of their parent's home will be as big a problem in America as it is in Japan. It has been estimated that one in ten young Japanese males are hikikomori. They just sort of disappeared. OTOH, I suppose it beats being homeless.

I prefer them cold.

I love them cold or room temp. Cold is nice on a hot day. I'll pass on the
sausage no matter the temp.
