![]() One thing not mention in this thread is having an Amazon branded charge card. When you order something from Amazon you get a 5% rebate. Adds up. I just placed an order and it will be :free", paid by a portion of my rebate points. |

That was another reason that I ordered from Amazon instead of Costco -- the rebate was larger and delivery was quicker. Janet US |

Nancy, today I visited my local WH (adjacent to Northwestern University in Evanston IL). I was greeted when I entered the store, but otherwise no big changes...I was sniffing around for price reductions. Did find a nice sirloin steak @ $5.99/lb, some cheese, otherwise nothing earthshaking. Small bag of vittles. $35.00, I was lazy so I did not feel like making an "expedition" to my usual place, where $35.00 would stretch much further... BTW, I am watching some episodes of the early 60's sitcom "Dobie Gillis". His parents run a corner grocery store, I am noticing that those 1960 prices posted in the store are pretty expensive, adjusted for inflation... -- Best Greg |

I do notice that some of the biggest complainers in the grocery stores are men, as if they are simply too important to be put out like that. LOL Cheri |

It could possibly have been the last week of a summer job so they didn't care, but I think the store cares whatever the time of year. |

The brick and mortar stores are struggling as it is these days. Cheri |
