Default Supper tonight

I picked up some lamb shanks the other day. I could not believe the deal
I got on them. They are usually sold in packs of three small shanks for
$14-16, but there were on sale at the butcher shop for $6.99/lb and I
got two big ones for $8.60. I braised them in Guiness and beef stock and
served them on garlic mashed potatoes with a side of steamed broccoli.

You ever try serving them with polenta? That's my favourite side for
lamb shanks.

No I haven't, but it is a good idea. Polenta is something that is
lacking from my cooking repertoire.

I've never tried it. Somehow, it didn't sound all that appealing.

This is the way I make it, but you could do the lamb shanks any way
you like. And I only make about 1/4 the amount for the polenta, and I
use a "quick cooking" polenta.

Thanks. Thanks. That looks interesting. I think I will stick to my lamb
shank recipe because it always turns out so nicely. I am sure it would
work with the polenta.

I have had polenta and liked it. It just never worked its way into my
cooking repertoire. Since the repertoire has slowly evolved, it could
end up in it. I have certainly enjoyed fried polenta.
