Default coconut oil

At the grocery, I saw a can marked "Virgin coconut oil".

What does that mean?

It means no one has had sex in it.

(LOL)

Seriously, it has to do with how it is processed. It's not
hydrogenated.

Maybe. As Google Groupers (or trolls) go, he's not so bad. He's
asked a handful of seemingly naïve questions here, doesn't get
abusive, and doesn't engage in leading people on when his threads
get a few replies.

I did think it was telling that after some mass-media article
about artichokes and wine (that there's some chemical in artichokes
that affects the taste of wine), he posted here asking about artichoke
and wine pairings.

"Virgin oil" means it's better than regular plain old oil. I won't use anything less than a virgin synthetic motor oil in my VW. Brilliant!

Same feeling here. He's asking the occasional reasonable question.

RichD, That particular oil is also noted to help with doggie Alzheimers
and with people. Not a cure at ALL but seems to help both retard
progression a bit (slow it down) and make them feel better.

Trans fats?

What's the chemistry of hydrogenation?
