I made a huge meal. Mostly reheated but I did cook the rice. Orange chicken,
Gen. Tso's chicken, pot stickers, egg rolls, broccoli beef and of course,
fortune cookies.

Not sure about tomorrow. I have a meeting so could get home late. I did pick
up some buns and have a bag of chips. Could do burgers.

That's funny to me, the past couple of years after I have anything
with tomato sauce I get a craving for ice cream.

Too bad there's hardly ever any ice cream in the house.

I've got to plan better.

If I am going to eat/serve icecream, I make my own, purely because I
do not like the list of chemicals on ice cream cartons.

I've become very fussy with that. Peaches are good right now so I will
be making a batch, but when I buy, HaagenDaz is one of the few eligible
for my cart. Years ago Breyers was a favorite, but they cheapened it
and added fillers.

Breyers vanilla MILK, CREAM, SUGAR, CORN SYRUP, WHEY, EGG YOLKS, CAROB
BEAN GUM, MONO AND DIGLYCERIDES, SALT, NATURAL FLAVOR, VANILLA EXTRACT,
ANNATTO (FOR COLOR), GUAR GUM, TARA GUM.

Haagen Daz vanilla ingredients: cream, skim milk, cane sugar, egg
yolks, vanilla extract.

Gelato is pretty simple. Unless it is Breyers. They would upset any
gelato maker in Italy.

Milk
Sugar
Cream
Corn Syrup
Strawberries
Dutched Cocoa (Processed With Alkali)
Fructose
Less Than 2% Of:
Whey
Coconut Oil
Strawberry Juice Concentrate
Canola Oil
Vegetable
GUMS (CAROB BEAN, GUAR)
Mono And Diglycerides
Unsweetened Chocolate
Cocoa Butter
Natural Flavor
Cocoa
Beet Juice Concentrate (For Color)
Citric Acid
Salt
Carrageenan
Malic Acid
Soy Lecithin
PGPR Polyglycerol polyricinoleate is an emulsifier that can be derived
from either animal fats and palm oil. It is often used to reduce the fat
content in chocolate and to reduce viscosity.
Vitamin A Palmitate

Remember when Denny's was called "Sambo's"...??? :

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sambo%27s

[...]

"By 1979, Sambo's had 1,117 outlets in 47 American states. In the late 1970s, controversy over the chain's name drew protests and lawsuits in communities that viewed the term Sambo as pejorative towards African-Americans. Several of the restaurants were opened as or renamed "The Jolly Tiger" in locations where the local community passed resolutions forbidding the use of the original name or refused to grant the chain permits..."

where's your damned veggies? Potato chips don't count, and neither does
the red sauce. Or did you have a gigantic salad for lunch, filling your
veggie quota for the day?

And, where's the red wine?

I'd prefer you use a sniper rifle on me from a few hundred yards away.
There you go - a reason for you to buy yet another gun and ammo.

I sure do. The one in Reno had a narrow mural along the wall and above
the booths that depicted Sambo's story. It was a good family
restaurant.
The Sambo's on Fourth and Keystone in Reno was the collection area for
the war torn soldiers who raided the girl's dorm, Juniper Hall, at the
University of Nevada at two in the morning in 1965 during the Mackay
Day celebration. The raid was for um... communist panties and went
without casualty on both sides and awareness by only one. Not one girl
woke up out of more than a hundred, as they were silently raided in a
big four story fortress by boys in Chuck Taylor sneakers. Thus the
name.
It was a perfect attack by a heroic and unsung group of forty brave
young men whose statute of limitations has long expired. Maybe ten
pounds of panties were captured. The enemy never awoke. Best raid ever!

They tell me.

[ObFood] Meaty, cheesy, chile nachos for dinner with a touch of olives.
I'm a high quality cook.
