Default Hamburger week?

This was in my newspaper a couple of weeks ago.
I cut it out and scanned it.

You sign up and pay $449 to enter. That allows you 7 days
of discounted (not free) burgers in restaurants that
are participating in this.

Did I miss something here?
Who would sign up and pay this?
Just how many burgers does one want in 7 days.

This is way worse than Jill's club prices, imo.

It's an ad geared towards restaurants and it's selling advertising space on a website and a poster. They'll promote your restaurant and you agree to sell burgers at a discounted price. It's a strange way to sell advertising and you should have never seen it.

You're so dumb Gary. Burger restaurants pay 449 to have their place
promoted in the special burger promotion week.

> Who would sign up and pay this?

Burger joints who hope to increase their trade during the "week long
burger-eating frenzy".

> Just how many burgers does one want in 7 days.

Owners will do it hoping to make a profit on the $449 investment;
includes free publicity all over town and online.

I have no idea who would sign up.

Hell, that would be half my *annual* dining assessment. At least I get
a choice of other menu items!

I do enjoy the occasional burger. Sometimes from the club, sometimes I
grill them at home. I sure as hell wouldn't want to eat burgers for 7
days in a row.

The restaurants pay that to be part of the event. Look at the picture
again.

Wow! Crazy. How many burgers can one eat in 7 days? Me? One, maybe two, if
that.

You are correct. A senior moment from me. I only thought
"customer ad" rather than one for businesses. oh well, at least
that makes much more sense now that I think in that direction.
Thanks for your and a few other's feedback.

I'd prefer you use a sniper rifle on me from a few hundred yards away.
There you go - a reason for you to buy yet another gun and ammo.

Likewise.

I recall when I hadda "hamburger", streak, going on. I was asked
every single time, "Would you like cheese with that?", expecting me to
increase my own cost! As if.....

I almost hadda t-shirt made declaring, "NO Fsckin' Cheese!!" Never
got around to it, but I know what you mean.

You're not supposed to know how much advertising costs the businesses. Now you know, the cat's out of the bat, the secret's out. It's too late to do anything now.
