They are as clear as can >be and taste nice and fresh. > >Doris My wife will be coming home with a device to wrap her knees that has ice water flowing through it. She told me that we may need more ice than I can make with my four ice cube trays so I searched for a small ice maker. Amazon sells several countertop icemakers but after reading the reviews most said those machines don't last more than a few months, and the ice bin is not refrigerated, the cubes melt and that water is constantly recycled. Mold forms in that bin and needs constant cleaning. also the cubes are tiny with holes through them so they melt rapidly. I'd not want to use them for beverages as they'd water the drink down quickly. Since we won't be ingesting the ice used for that knee cooling device it would be fine if the cubes were full size. After asking questions I learned that the device doesn't use much ice so I decided I will buy a couple more ice cube trays and make the extra ice cubes myself, and if we need more I will buy some bag ice from the local convenience store. I really don't like ice machine ice, it always simparts a foul odor/flavor, ruins the drinks... those who don't notice are obviously afflicted with TIAD. Even the bag ice from convenience stores is funny ice, it's made with poor quality water, only benefit is it's crystal clear so looks nioce but still imparts a raunchy taste/odor to drinks. Once one gets used to cubes made from RO water in trays they will never go back... they'll never drink bottled water again either, bottled water is ordinary tap water, unfiltered, only from someone elses tap, probably from a gas station hose bib. Reverse Osmosis filters cost very little, a lot less than buying bottled water. RO filters produce the purest water for 5¢/gallon. I don't undeerstand people boasting about buying top shelf booze and then polluting it with ice from a refrigerator ice maker... even more horrendous are those name droppers who buy expensive coffees and teas and then brew them with their fercocktah tap water. The worst filters are those element filters, they are essentially aquarium filters, that load up quickly with schmutz, bacteria, and stench... and then adding insult to injury no one replaces them regularly. Next you patronize a fancy schmancy eatery and order a 2ni made with top shelf watch the barkeep eF it up with ice from the filthy ice machine. I've learned long ago not to order drinks made with top shelf when I'm out, it's much smarter to pay those bucks for booze I drink at home. |

What I said is that I don't drink much nowadays due to the meds I take... pay attention. However up until a few years ago I did drink more often. You need to learn not to editorialize peoples words to suit your needs, I've noticed you do that a lot and while not quoting what you're refering to. You'd have exhibited much less of your alhiemers affliction had you mentioned that I said I no longer eat out... I've stopped eating at restaurants more than five years ago.... restaurant food and service had degraded beyond what I considered acceptible. |
