Settled basement floor; the red line is the slabs original position. Basement mudjacking is relatively straightforward. The mudjacking crew drills holes through the basement floor. Concrete Jack uses 1 or 1-5/8€³ holes, depending on how much material needs to be pumped. Other mudjacking contractors may use slightly larger holes. After a few holes are drilled, the mudjacking crew mixes up a batch of grout. Mudjacking grout varies a lot geographically. Concrete Jacks basement mudjacking crews use cement-stabilized lime grout. After its thoroughly mixed, the grout is pumped through the holes, below the slab. The grout spreads out to fill any voids under the basement floor. Once all the voids are filled, any additional material pumped under the slab starts to push the slab back up. The mudjacking crew moves the injection nozzle from hole to hole to slowly work the slab back into position. |

A good definition of Bruce: "Characters can be Jerkasses in many ways - some may be polite, intelligent, charming, handsome and/or brave, but still give off a basic air of snobby, sneering, self-centered prickery that makes them such a nasty little punk that you wonder why nobody's beat the crap out of them, shanked them or busted a cap in their skull yet. Others are more obvious assholes who may be crass, sleazy, or otherwise repulsive. Either way, it's usually their status on the team of "good guy" that results in them never being called out on it. After all, if they were an asshole on team "bad guy", they'd just be another villain." ~Mike Reed, Flame Warriors |

And they >apparently aren't planning on doing anything about it or they would >have already done it. > >-sw He can block off those openings with glass blocks filled with plastic flowers. Without weep holes those planters won't last too long. Actually that house would look a lot better without those planters, they are way out of proportion and make the house look a lot smaller than it is. I still think it would have been better to close off the openings in front of the deck with decortive wood lath and then plant some attractive evergreen shrubs. Only an idiot who has never owned a house would have permanently blocked off access with a brick wall and also give up all that extra storage space. An experienced homeowner would find a lot of valuable use for that exterior storage in the front of the property, saves having to lug say ladders, hoses, brooms, and whatever gardening tools one uses to maintain the front... I don't even see a hose bib in front... no electric outlet either. |
