Default Cheapo skillet

I did it!

I bought another cheapo skillet from Wally-World. It's a
9.5 inch Mainstays. Cost all of $6USD and the 'non-stick' coating is
waaay better than anything made by "T-Fal", which WW also carries a
line of.

At 3X the cost and half the "non-stick"-iness, I say NAY on the T-Fal
stuff. Anywho, bought the extra Mainstay cuz I usta have a 12"
Mainstay, but WW didn't have 'em when I was there so bought a T-Fal.
Major mistake, in which I hadda return the T-Fal fer being too crappy.

So, now I have two(2) 9.5" Mainstays. One fer everyday use and
another fer back-up.

I use zero metal and still add oil. I got a back-up skillet cuz the
outside finish gets to be all crapped-up from "hob plaque".

Â* I have small , medium , large , and family size cast iron skillets .
And a CI griddle for the middle burner on our stove . Our large skillet
is over 40 years old ... quality CI lasts , unlike nonstick coatings .
We don't know the ages of the others , they were purchased 2nd hand .

I had a "Wearever" non stick from Wal Mart that handily outlasted my
much spendier Calpahalon non sticks.

Then again Calphalon offers a free replacement policy which I have
availed myself of with glee.

I have a 10 inch Calphalon non-stick skillet that is still in fantastic
shape but what do you have to do to get the replacement?

It's the only non-stick skillet/pan I have as all my other cookware is
the Calphalon tri-ply stainless steel.

I bought a pair of non-stick last week .. 2/$10. I tossed the cardboard slipcase, so don't
know what brand they are without looking, but they are about that 9 1/2 inch size, and have
that slickery grayish finish that the new "green" and "copper"'non-stick pans do, so I have
high hopes for it. It has got to work at least we well as the matte-finish non-slick surface on the
heavier, pricier non-stick offerings. And you can't beat the price.
