Default Kidde fire extinguisher recall

I've got half a dozen! Two r' three in kitchen!!

Good way to get 'em all recharged fer free.

Most local fire houses will happily refill extinguishers for free.

They may not have been defective 42 years ago. Some materials will
deteriorate over time, exposure to UV or other chemicals. After about
15 years they should be replaced or at least have a new backup available.

I heard them saying it was the lever, plastic now, not metal. Don't
know what make mine is but only the hose is rubber as opposed to
metal.

I thing the warranty is 12 years. I'd toss anything 20 years old or at
least have a new one for backup. In addition to the kitchen, I have two
units expired from work because of age and OSHA regulations but could be
handy at home.

They used a soy based plastic that would decay after some years. Soy is
coming back to make plastics more environmental friendly.
