Julie has often made posts I don't agree with but none where she has attacked anyone. It's easier to ignore posts from anyone rather than make disparaging remarks. Julie contributes a lot more to rfc than many, especially those who often bash her. I find it's a lot more beneficial to ignore posts than to make nasty comments. Even though I disagree with some of Julies's opinions I find her a far more valuable asset to rfc than her detractors. |

Salisbury steak, mashed potatoes and green beans for the rest of us. I didn't make any of it but reheated some. I did make caramel corn with peanuts from scratch. A no corn syrup recipe. One of the teens ate it and horror of horrors, liked it! I am giving the rest to friends. I made a big batch. |

We're lucky that we have the ability to not read. > https://nypost.com/2017/11/09/sean-p...ted-a-monster/ Sean Parker, who played a pivotal role in turning Facebook into a money-minting juggernaut, admits that he is now something of a conscientious objector to the social networking giant. Facebook literally changes your relationship with society, with each other, Parker told Axios in a Wednesday interview. God only knows what its doing to our childrens brains. The 38-year-old tech tycoon whose hardball exploits as Facebooks first president were depicted in Aaron Sorkins 2010 Hollywood flick The Social Network said Facebook is designed to exploit a vulnerability in human psychology to get its users addicted. The inventors, creators its me, its Mark [Zuckerberg], its Kevin Systrom on Instagram, its all of these people understood this consciously, he said. And we did it anyway. Parker, who is now founder and chair of the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy, explained that Facebook uses likes and shares to create a social-validation feedback loop that keeps users coming back. We need to sort of give you a little dopamine hit every once in a while, because someone liked or commented on a photo or a post or whatever, Parker said. And thats going to get you to contribute more content, and thats going to get you more likes and comments. Parker said he never anticipated the consequences of what would happen when Facebook grew to have 2 billion monthly users. |

The episode with the soup dumplings comes to mind. Wow. http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2...ao-recipe.html Soup dumplings are not extremely tough to make, but they are time-consuming, and here's why: in order to get the broth inside the 'pling, it must first be solidified, and that means making a real chicken and/or pork brothno cheating by using the canned stuff. |
