The chickens scratch and peck. What the cats eat is a mystery.

Mostly, our cat just stares at me like he's trying to figure out something about me. Perhaps he's plotting my demise. Today, my wife was sweeping the kitchen floor and the cat went and laid down on the pile of sweepings. That's just disruptive. No doubt this is just the beginning of some kind of campaign of harassment.

I don't care. We're long past the time when carpenters measured by
knotting a piece of string.

Carter tried to change the habits of 300 million people but did not do
so well. Slowly, we are changing in some industries, especially
automotive.

Seem most Americans would rather live with incorrect conversion rather
than follow the rest of civilization. It is difficult to learn though,
may take a day or two to get used to it.

I've had cats most of my life but the last one, Mr.Kitty lived
here from kitten until death....19.5 years. We were real buddies.
He was my 'son'.

One game we used to play occasionally was a "stare down." Have
you ever played that with your cat? You just go sit beside him
then don't move at all and just stare at him. After a moment, he
will look at you wondering why no petting or talking....and he
will see you staring at him.

Immediately his eyes would go wide, pupils dialate like in
hunting mode. lol
Let the "stare down" begin! Rules were no communication, no
moving, no blinking of eyes. The no blinking of eyes is what
always ended my challenge. I held out for a long time but
eventually I had to blink and he never did.

He was like a sqwertz cat....he *always* won that game!

Here's a pic of him on the bed, watching tv -

Lovely cat) Would a cat be easier to care for than a ferret when you are
working?

Cats are very little care - ferrets are constant care.
I like the extra friendship of a ferret though. I'll wait.

And yet there is historic and social comfort in maintaining a "tie-in"
to our roots.

And that's not super string theory either.
