Default Wow! Too much black pepper in my "baked beans"...

....DOES NOT SUCK!!!

Of course I DO make a rather large batch of my "baked beans" like 3.5 bags of dried beans. And while cooking I accidentally dumped about a 1/3 of one of those tall plastic bottles of ground black pepper in it! Oops! I figured "how gross can it be?" and WOW!! Yeah at first is was a flavor AND COLOR shocker, but as I ate more if it I found it's actually VERY DELICIOUS! :-)

I'm not gonna change my recipe, too much, except for never being shy about dumping a BUNCH of ground black pepper in it while cooking it!

Hi John. I always heavily pepper my baked beans and also
potatoes. When I make home fries, I'll blanket them with pepper.
Funny how beans and potatoes can "take the pepper" and hard to
overdo it, yet go a bit heavy on some other foods and it's not
such a good thing.

PS - you cook 3.5 bags of dried beans at a time? Really?

Yup! Makes a big ole batch! I freeze most and use it of a smaller container I keep in the fridge to use out of daily.

I've got 3 here so a bag of beans goes away fast enough, no need to
freeze excess.
