Default Do you like ginger snaps ?

I bought a new (to me) brand today and I absolutely love them.
Or maybe because it's the first food today and I'm hungry?

Much tastier than the usual store brand and definitely better
than the overrated Trader Joe's brand with the nifty candied
ginger blob in the middle.

You might want to give it a try. It's inexpensive -
14oz bag for $2.00

Brand is Stauffer's Ginger Snaps.

I used to get them, i think they were sunhsine brand, lots of ginger and molasses in them, they sounded like they were made from wood if you tapped them against something hard.

Can you believe the list of ingredients the food industry needs for a
ginger cookie?

365 Ginger Snaps:
"Enriched wheat Flour (Wheat Flour, Niacin, reduced Iron, Thiamin
Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Folic Acid), sugar, non-hydrogenated canola
oil, molasses, ginger, sodium bicarbonate, salt, soy lecithin.
contains wheat and soy ingredients"

One question though: no xanthan gum???

Try this with those ginger snaps.

Pumpkin Dip

1 15 oz. can pumpkin€”Libby's

1 8 oz. package Philly cream cheese€”softened

2 cups 10x sugar
1 tablespoon pump pie spice
1 tsp. orange juice

Mix well (I mix the cream cheese and the sugar first), add the
pumpkin and spice and juice. It keeps well in the fridge.

Dip the cookies in the dip, very good.

I have liked ginger snaps for as long as I can remember. We rarely by
cookies, but a few years ago we used to occasionally pick up ginger
cookies with bits if ginger stem in them. It's been a while, so I don't
remember the brand. A few years ago I found a recipe online for
Starbucks ginger cookies. I deviated slightly from the recipe by adding
chopped up pieces of candied ginger.

You find something excessive about using flour, sugar, oil, molasses,
ginger, baking soda, salt and lecithin in a cookie?

I think your major beef here is with the longer multi-syllabic words.

Soy lecithin subs for eggs and is vegan. Other than that, if I
liked gingersnaps, I might use those same ingredients.

I love ginger snaps! They're not overly sweet. I hadn't bought any in
years but I picked up a bag of them the last time I was at the grocery
store. I don't recall the brand; I put them in an airtight Rubbermaid
container and discarded the bag. These ginger snaps are about the size
of a silver dollar. Very tasty!

Thanks Joan. That sounds good enough. Lots of sugar though. I've
saved it to maybe try sometime.

"Xanthan gum derives its name from the strain of bacteria used during
the fermentation process, Xanthomonas campestris. This is the same
bacterium responsible for causing black rot to form on broccoli,
cauliflower, and other leafy vegetables."

This confirms my theory that xanthan gum causes brain rot, which made
people vote for Trump. I bet there was a very large percentage of
prefab food consumers among Trump voters.

This would be something I would make at Thanksgiving or Christmas and
a crowd was expected at my house. Put this in a pretty dish surrounded
by the ginger snaps and watch the crowd consume all that sugar.

:-))
