So do I! I use convection exclusively. Silicone might work with some cakes but IME not with Parisian macarons. With the fan, I have to glue the sheets to the cookie pans with a dob of the mix under each corner. |

He lived in Montreal for about 10 years and macarons were quite common there. My mother used to make (coconut) macaroons. He didn't grasp the coconut and I was insisting there was no filling, but then I realized he was referring to macarons, not macaroons. |

People shovel out a spot and think they are now the owners of it even though it is on a public street. People have been killed over parking arguments. In parking lots sometimes a car is waiting for another to pull out but another car can sneak in ahead of them. That is not always a good ending. When I was about 16 and my brother 17 we cleared an area in front of out house to park. We were the last house on the street in the middle of the block so there was another couple hundred yards to park but a woman from a block away took our spot. It was freezing weather and the next day her car was coated with ice. The only one on the block too. Strange how that happened. |

There are no hard and fast rules. If I ran the world and there was lots of street parking you would be entitled to shoot someone for parking in the space you cleaned out. It would not be allowed if there was high demand for parking spaces. I used to get very frustrated with the women who lived in the apartment above us when we were in a fourplex. We had a common driveway shared with the buildings on either side and two carports, each large enough for two cars. I used to shovel our driveway all the way from the road to the car part. No one ever cleared out the other side of the drive or the parking space at the end. One of the women would park her car in the part I had cleared. I didn't expect them to shovel our the other side of the drive that belong to the building next door, but they could at least have helped with the snow clearing. > > In parking lots sometimes a car is waiting for another to pull out but > another car can sneak in ahead of them.Â* That is not always a good ending. > > When I was about 16 and my brother 17 we cleared an area in front of out > house to park.Â* We were the last house on the street in the middle of > the block so there was another couple hundred yards to park but a woman > from a block away took our spot.Â* It was freezing weather and the next > day her car was coated with ice.Â* The only one on the block too.
