Default Food Morphing

Has anyone noticed the 'Death Spread' thread is heavily populated and has morphed away from food entirely, mostly into political bullshit. That's what I like about newsgroups. What I don't like is when people complain about others going "off topic", yet the heavily populated Death Spread thread only serves to prove the complainers of full of crap.

I do not come in here (except for now), to start any discussion not related to food. But I enjoy when any thread changes direction. What's the big beef? If you don't like it, let it go, move on. Anyway, I noticed the highly populated thread, which started off nicely enough, a great topic - funeral food - but quickly took on a more political vibe (which I despise), while at times morphing into what I like best, talking about theories. I think theories carry more weight than fact, or so-called fact, which is used mostly for debates, which are really nothing but discussions which have reached a dead end. Anyway, for those who bitch about others going off topic, the "Death Spread" thread is a good example of just how phony some of them can be as I could not help but notice doing the complaining were involved in that still active thread.

I enjoy it,

TJ

Oh?

You like thread drift that ruins newsgroups do ya?

Unsurprising.

Iow, it's fine to go off topic but no one else may respond to the gobbige?

Why not?

When have you EVER initiated an actual food or cooking discussion?

I may have missed it - please recap.

Spoken like a true tread drift troll.

Yes you're real big on stifling debate for sure.

We know why too.

You're probably an enjoyable curmudgeon in real life but it doesn't come across well in text because you're a lousy writer. Now, as for your claim that I have never come in here to discuss food or ask a question related to it's preparation - since proof and fact are so important to you, you should go back and check for yourself and you will see that not once have I come in here to start a thread not related to food. Most of the time I come in with questions about preparing things. When the thread drifts I will drift along with it unless I don't like where it's heading, like into politics for example. I will hop out of those threads in a hurry. If you have half a brain you have to know that newsgroups would be very barren places if everyone stayed on topic all the time. Your argument is funny because you exemplify the very thing you complain about and accuse me of. At least I admit I enjoy when threads go off topic. But I don't steer them that way. I just go along for the ride and enjoy it sometimes. You should be grateful that I respond to you at all. Now say thank you and by God be done with it.

Whoops, I was wrong. I did actually start one thread not related to food - the one we're in right now. But that was only to comment on the Death Spread thread, which took all sorts of enjoyable and at times not so enjoyable turns. When it steered into political type crap I tried to stay out of it.. Everyone likes a thread that deviates from the original topic, and the Death Spread thread is a good example of that and can be verified by the large number of posts into it even after the original topic had long faded away. You are simply a lonely person looking to argue - anything for a response. I have similar issues. But the difference is I am honest, very honest, maybe the most honest person who ever lived - and you are not!
