It's a little far for me to drive. I have a wonderful butcher shop 2 blocks
from me, so there!

Despite their outright lie about not being able to find UDSA choice
in supermarkets, they look pretty good.

I have these two:

It's nice that you found one nearby. Of course you won't be buying
the ground meat, sausages or meatballs, right?

The folks who run the meat market/butcher shop on Lady's Island fancy
themselves more like restauranteurs. Co-owned by a man named Julian and
his wife Lin, he grills slabs of ribs and half chickens on Saturdays in
the parking lot in front of the shop. His wife, Lin, is always trying
to push some homemade something she's made. (John and I tried her
lasagna once and it was extremely bland.)

When I first discovered this shop they employed a butcher. He'd cut
steaks or chops on request right in front of you. The next time I went
in he wasn't working there anymore and the fresh meat selection had gone
way down. Most of what they sell appears to be from the freezer cases
that line the wall.

Lin also insulted me once. It was perhaps unintentional, intended to be
helpful? I was buying a couple of packages of (frozen) spicy shrimp &
rice sausages. As she rang them up she said, "You DO realize these
[packages] are $20 each?" Hey, I may not dress to the nine's to go
grocery shopping but neither did I look like a hobo. I felt her comment
was rather rude.

Not to mention all the HEB's here carry USDA Prime beef, too.

People do dumb things like that. I know a couple of well to do business
people that wear well worn jeans. When I bought my new car a couple of
months ago I was wearing shorts and a T-shirt with a stain. Dressed
like a slob, they treated me well sold me the car since I had a credit
score of 881.

In Washington D.C. on a business trip, when out and about as a tourist,
the panhandlers specifically skipped me. They asked everyone in front
of me as they walked past, and they asked the couple of people behind me
that I could hear. Me, they skipped.

IIRC I was still walking around wearing shorts and a tank top. It was
hot outside. No need to infer I couldn't afford to spend $40 simply
because I was dressed comfortably for the weather.

Um, I didn't need to consult my credit score in order to spend $40 on
shrimp sausages. LOL

I can find prime and choice. And apparently something less than choice. LOL

Years ago when my mother was spending her final months with us, I
dashed over to Eatons appliance department to buy a 'fridge/freezer I
had seen. As I was in a great hurry to get back home I wore my jeans
and a jacket.

Snooty, puffed up salesman in the department made a point of serving a
fur coated woman who came just after me, saying to me 'Bill will be
back from supper break shortly' - by the time Bill came was I ever
laughing, snooty salesman is talking fridges with a fur coated woman
who is just killing time and Bill was shown the fridge I wanted, noted
the address, said it would be delivered next day and I was out of
there. I knew they worked on commission, so as I passed Snooty I said
to him, 'You shouldn't judge a person by their clothing' - he was fit
to be tied

Maybe you're thinking of select grade? I can't remember all the grade
orders, but select and choice are both less than prime.

Depends, some range 300 to 850, others are industry specific and go from
250 to 900. There is also the Vantage score that goes to 990. Experian
National Equivalence goes 360 to 840.
