Default I missed national bean day!

Thought it was today, but it was yesterday. I did have some refried beans
and also chili yesterday so I'm good there. Today I am making navy bean
soup. Did you make beans?

I think I'm going to make baked beans tomorrow. I don't know anything
about "national bean day."

Nice. Sadly, my soup is rather yucky. I didn't make it from scratch. It's
the Bear Creek brand. Just add water and done in 10 minutes. This is the
second flavor I tried. I think the first was black bean. Both have what are
clearly dehydrated veggies in them. I have nothing against dehydrated
veggies so long as they fully rehydrate and these just don't despite cooking
them for longer. This one has an "off"taste to it as well. Almost burned and
I didn't burn it.

That looks nice, although I'm not sure I'll ever like kale. I ate the
rest of the red beans & rice yesterday so I guess that counts as a bean
day thing.

I don't mind kale in soup as long as it isn't overdone. Anywhere
else, I can't eat it. I want to, but there just isn't anything that
is o.k. about it for me.

Kale like every other really tough leafy veggie need to be COOKED TO DEATH to be really good, and properly seasoned of course! :-)

What I saw in the soup is just right for me. If kale didn't come in
such a big bunch I would put it in my vegetable soups. I just use
spinach instead.
