Nothing worthwhile this week. The only thing I will buy from it
is a pint of blueberries for $2.50 but I'm not that impressed.

Interesting sale is Chicken Wings for $2.49lb. That's still
pretty high for what you get but you just wait until NEXT
Wednesdays prices. That will be a few days before Superbowl when
wings are popular snack and I'll bet that price doubles.

In comparison to the 2.49lb wings this week, leg quarters are
selling for $0.49lb and they work even better for the traditional
buffalo wing recipes. Rather than nibble off wing bones, imagine
biting off a good hefty chunk of chicken with the same flavors.
oh yeah!

And finally, in the organic section... Organic Cat Litter - 20lb
bag for $10.79. That's a lot of money for kitty tp.
And....organic?? It's probably plain clay.

Looks like it might be biodegradable, based on an extremely
cursory Google search.

If you care to investigate exactly, the brand name is "Feline
Pine"

A head of lettuce is biodegradable, that doesn't mean it's organic.
Chewy has several pages of cat litter, none are organic. We buy this
one, we go through four 40 pound sacks a month:

Made by Arm & Hammer. I couldn't see where the labeling indicated
that the manufacturer claims it's organic. Chemical-free. Made
from kiln-dried shavings derived from lumber production. So,
sawdust compressed into small pellets. The clumping variety has
a clumping agent (not identified on their web site) and mineral
oil to control dust.

Looks like your grocery store was taking a few liberties in its
description.

I used to use wood cat litter, years ago, but I think it was cedar.

The feral cats prefer to dig a little hole in the dirt, do their
business, and then cover it with dirt.... real cats don't need any
stinkin' litter.

I went to Fred Meyer and bought very little. Not even a full bag of stuff
and some beverages. I wanted some produce but the prices were high. I did
buy some salad and tomatoes at Albertsons the day before. So far, tomatoes
still fresh looking.

Am gonna try Winco over the weekend. Hopefully they'll have better produce
prices.

I tried that one. Okay... I didn't literally try it but my cats did. It
smelled fine initially but got really stinky really quickly once it was
used.

We really don't want to know what goes on within his compound.

Without looking it up, it sounds like wood shavings.

I haven't seen much of interest in the sales fliers, either. With the
Superbowl coming up they're pushing a lot of snacky/junk food items and
soda pop. I never bother looking at the price of chicken wings. I'm
sure you're right about the price being higher right before the big game.

Freddie's is very expensive. I'm not too sure they aren't more
expensive than Albertson's. I'm not real thrilled with their produce,
it always seems a little shabby. Not bad, but not special either.

Agree, but I take some friends shopping because they don't have vehicles.
That's where they prefer to shop. One will go to Winco on occasion but the
other goes all crazy and overspends there so she just has me occasionally
buy a few things for her there that she can't get elsewhere. But she won't
go into the store.
