I just made two loaves of banana bread for dessert! I live with some excellent Indian cooks, from India! :-)

No Mango Lasse though! ;-)

My daughter made some banana bread. My wife was shocked that she let the bananas decompose in the refrigerator to such an awful state but said that was the best banana bread she ever tasted. I think it could have used a touch more salt but you didn't hear that from me. It was a very dark banana bread. That is a good thing.

You all seem to have a thing about eating decomposed stuff <g> For banana
bread, I let my banana skins go black. No sure they are decomposed though:)

How is your steak coming on?

Oph, *you know* (I think most of us do) black banana skins doesn't mean
"decomposed". Bananas should be very ripe to make excellent banana bread.

My mother used to make wonderful banana nut bread. She let them sit on
the counter until the skins were well speckled with black. You want
very soft bananas, all the sugars concentrated. That's the key. The
natural sugars concentrated. Mash them and make banana bread. :)

> How is your steak coming on?

Is this the one he said he'd leave sitting in the refrigerator as a test
case for "aged" steak or something similar?

No, no, he has eaten that one and he said it was really good.

I think he is experimenting with another one.

HELL NO!! My Family's HOME! For the Spring semester. Legacy housemates get a rent DISCOUNT! Forever, any time they need a room. They are my family now, a daily part of it anyway.

Yes it's good that way but you can and do any ripeness of banana. I do and it's always good!

I actually prefer my banana bread using not-so-overripe bananas.
Otherwise, its just too sweet for my tastes. I also like to add some
ground flax to mine for the omega-3 boost. I just made two loaves myself on
Tuesday. One to keep, one to sharethe neighbor across the street plowed
our driveway after our 14 snowfall and DH was out of town and unable to
shovel for me.

His tenants don't realize they're not just signing a lease, they're
also signing a contract to be part of John's "family".

Saying that his "family" is back for spring semester is super creepy.
I'd wonder what happens when tenants don't warm up to being part of
his "family". He only has room for 3 or 4 graves in the back yard
before he has to start doubling up the bodies.

ObFood: Beef, scallop, shrimp, and squid chow fun. I didn't realize
these squid steaks are solid slabs of giant squid - not chopped and
formed.

That totally makes sense <boggle>. You bought a house all the time
bragging about all the retirement income you're going to get, yet
don't charge anybody rent.

So what you're saying now is that you bought it just because you're
lonely and wanted a "family"?

Everybody's taking an advantage and getting a piece of push-over
John's insane gullibility. And I didn't even get a cherry - hrmpf.

....and mark it up 17X for John who overpays for everything. That was
Steve's point and I ran with it.

Never run with Sqwerty's points.

Even if they're right he's wrong.

My mental health professional has directed me to apologize to this
group at large and to Marty and Steven in specific for acting out
here. A change in my medications is being made to address a disorder I
have been experiencing this summer. I will be monitored, but I am no
longer allowed to engage in certain activities I previously have
enjoyed as they exacerbate my condition. I apologize for being
disruptive, in a better state of mind this was generally not an issue
for me.

You pick your enemies and I'll pick mine. I'm at zero here at the

Well not really, as long as RFC embraces the bully culture I'm going to
go after the bad actors tooth and nail, ymmv.
