Default Uses for half and half?

I think I have only ever bought this stuff maybe three times in my life. And
today I bought too much. Am currently in the middle of making crustless
muffin tin quiches. Quite a few types. And either tomorrow or the next day
will use a little more for hominy casserole.

Ideas for what to do with the rest of it? I have some chicken. Anything I
can do with that?

Thanks!

Mashed potatoes, pudding, cereal, anything you use milk for will be richer.

I don't generally use milk. But thanks!

True dat!

I typically use whole milk or heavy whipping cream, but there is one
thing "half n' half" is good for. The greatest hang-over remedy known
to mankind! Tequila and half n' half. Gar-own-tee!

Thanks, Jill.

I don't know how long Individual will grant me access, gratis, but it
can't be long. I discovered my financial institution wants $45USD fer
a bank transfer. No thanks. I'll change to eternal-sept, first. 8|

After years of being happy with NIN, I started having problems with
connecting. It was paid for but there were problems. Their formerly
great tech support was a bust. So I did switch to eternal-september.
It worked for a while but sometimes... not.

I also have an account with blocknews.net. It cost me very little to
buy a lot of gigs. It's more reliable than eternal-september. That guy
sometimes forgets to renew his certificate; posts won't go through until
someone wakes him up. I'm not kidding.

I use apn (available through Forte Agent) works out about Can$3.90 per
month. I feel that's reasonable as I can also use Binary groups too.

BTW I made another batch of your minestrone recipe, didn't have any
proscuitto so used some crisped bacon instead.

If you are not on a diet, it is very good to just drink it. Tastes like
whole milk, but very rich in milkfat. I use it in coffee. And it will
keep at least a month (usually more) in the refrigerator if you keep it
in the original container and don't contaminate it with any bacteria, etc.

You could also use it to make puddings and the like. Again, it works
just like milk, but richer tasting.

I can't stand milk. Nobody here drinks it. I guess I could make a pudding
out of it. I just don't want the large container in the fridge. Thanks!

* Freeze it . Use an ice tray , then bag the cubes to use later .

Too late. She already shot down that idea. Doesn't want it taking
up refrigerator space so freezing it won't work...she has even
less freezer space.

I found a chicken recipe to make. I won't eat it but that's okay. Just have
to think of a side to go with it.

Why can't you people just put it in your coffee, like the rest of the
world does?

Next time, use it as a douche. It will leave you feeling clean and
refreshed. And the gardener will notice it too.

Good luck!

I understand. I like many milk products like butter, cheese, ice cream,
even a good milkshake. The last glass of milk I drank was probably in
high school.

I'd either bake something or make maybe a milkshake, but I just tossed
the remains of a quart of milk that expired a while back.

Oh my living, loving GAWD!!! JULIE how could you have progressed this far in life without the knowledge of "half-and-half"? It is just a rich cream which
can be used in thousands of recipes that call for CREAM. I use it on cereal and desserts of all kinds, on canned and fresh fruit.
You must have lived in isolation for eons.

Because I never use cream either! I rarely eat cereal and when I do, it is
dry. Rarely eat fruit or desserts. I don't like cream or milk. Never have.
Dunno if the gardener eats pudding but I suppose I could try.

You might start him out with a simple canned pudding...

No sense going to the effort if he's picky.

And then lay some half and half on him after he eats the canned pudding?

He's not super picky. Only thing I know of that he doesn't like is yogurt. I
did have pudding in the fridge for a very long time that nobody ate. It was
sugar free though. I will make chicken with the half and half later.

HaHaHaHa ... if you NEVER like or use milk or cream, why didn't you
simply throw it out as others suggested?

What the hell did you think half and half was? Oh no... no ... say it
ain't so!

I thought it was half pork mince/half beef mince. After seeing it, I
might have realised my mistake.

I know what it is. I bought it for two specific recipes. One is a hominy
casserole that I will likely make once and never again. I just bought too
much and wanted to find another use for it, which I did. Chicken.

Oh, this hominy casserole that you remembered from days of yore and the
gardener just happens to like? Maybe he'll eat it once or twice. Don't
expect him to eat it constantly.

That's what you tend to do, you know.

You've been here long enough to know her game. Ask a dumb question and
then shoot down all the suggestions about why she can't do that. Then
she will get the negative comments. It's all about the attention.

half and half can be purchased in 8,16,32,64 ounce containers that I
am aware of. You have a recipe, it says how much it needs, you buy
the appropriate size container. Problem solved. If she has a large
container of it left over, it's her fault, she bought wrong. This
post from the OP was a red herring for another 400 reply thread. You
know the kind of deal. You open up the cooking group and there are
104 new posts overnight, then you find out 97 are from Julie telling
people in thousand word replies why she can't or won't do as
suggested.

It is my fault that I bought too much but it was also far cheaper to buy it
that way. I did mention chicken. I thought someone might be able to give me
a recipe. But no. Only grief. So I'll post the recipe I will make later.

http://allrecipes.com/recipe/49497/o...hicken-dinner/

I do not have mushrooms or artichoke so will leave those out. Have not
decided on the sides but am thinking maybe some form of potato and a salad.
