I'm always the last to know, but have you checked out
https://www.yummly.com/

It's easy to fill in your recipe ingredient requirements and find what
you want.

"Bigly" of you Janet:-) Thanks!
But a recipe for a vegan GF Spanish omelette? There was an article in
the WP or NYT the other day about vegans forcing their cats and dogs to
eat a vegan diet. Nutters, the lot of 'em!

Cats are obligate carnivores. Anybody who tries to make a vegan out
of one IS a nutter and is guilty of animal cruelty.

"Nutters, the lot of 'em" referred to ALL vegans, not just the ones
who deny their cats/dogs meat.

Archie wasn't always right, but Graham is about vegans. They force
their strange and restrictive diets on their children. Putting dogs and
cats on a vegetarian diet is just plain nuts. They are omnivores, like
people. They can't eat honey because they don't want to exploit the
labour of bees, but they have no problems buying supposedly organic
foods produced by people who work their asses off for very low wages.

There's nothing wrong with a vegan diet for humans.

And this carnivore newsgroup is full of people who buy the cheapest of
the cheapest food, regardless of animal welfare or working conditions
of workers.

Sure, if you go to enough effort you can manage to maintain a healthy
diet. Omnivores can do that by eating a well balanced diet.

> And this carnivore newsgroup is full of people who buy the cheapest of

Do you know that for a fact. My dog gets a salmon based food that sure
isn't cheap. His food is so good that when I take him to the dog park
there are a couple dogs who come running to greet him because they know
he will crap within two minutes of arrival and they will eat it up
before we get a chance to pick it up. I am not shitting you. One yellow
lab comes running to the gate when we arrive and she will get behind him
as soon as he starts to squat and grab it before it hits the ground.
The other day my dog walked along and dropped a line of turds. I tried
to get a bag opened up while trying to block Maggie when another yellow
lab scooted over and snatched them.

Well I'm in line with him - the other day I wandered through the
section in my supermarket for vegans, gluten sensitives, egg free -
you name it. I can see where it must be popular with management,
everything costs more, has such cutsey names and is, IMO, pretty darn
stupid.

I can see the point of veganism from an animal welfare point of view.
You're a meat eater, so for you veganism is useless. That's logical.

I hardly ever look for recipes on the 'Net. If I am looking for ideas
I will probably go to Food Network because there are enough recipes
from reliable sources for me to get the gist of how to prepare.
Because sometimes you are just looking for something to fit around
what you have in the fridge as leftovers or as fresh. Yesterday I was
looking for a basic but different stir fry sauce and just typed stir
fry sauce into my search engine. That's how I ended up at yumly. It
gave me what I needed.

Fitting around what I have in the fridge is one of the reasons that I
often look up recipes online. I enter the word "recipe" and some of the
ingredients I am planning to use up and Google gives me a number of
recipes with those ingredients.

You don't need "yummly", you need an enema bag to drink out of...

We stir-fry vegetables, (air-)fry fish or tofu, air-fry some sweet
potato, for instance, and that's it. We rarely use recipes.

So you don't have anything against killing a poor innocent fish??

I hardly ever look for recipes on the 'Net. If I am looking for ideas
I will probably go to Food Network because there are enough recipes
from reliable sources for me to get the gist of how to prepare.
Because sometimes you are just looking for something to fit around
what you have in the fridge as leftovers or as fresh. Yesterday I was
looking for a basic but different stir fry sauce and just typed stir
fry sauce into my search engine. That's how I ended up at yumly. It
gave me what I needed.

You work the same as I do. I am only really interested in ideas) Many
sites, including Yummly are very good for that and I am please you posted
it.

My mental health professional has directed me to apologize to this
group at large and to Marty and Steven in specific for acting out
here. A change in my medications is being made to address a disorder I
have been experiencing this summer. I will be monitored, but I am no
longer allowed to engage in certain activities I previously have
enjoyed as they exacerbate my condition. I apologize for being
disruptive, in a better state of mind this was generally not an issue
for me.

that looks like a good recipe and the method is right on. I've only
made pizza a couple of times. For me, pizza is emergency Sunday night
rations

Agreed! I've started using "00" flour in some yeasted cake recipes.
