How about some recipes using honey ? There are 7 quarts and a pint on
the shelf from the first super , and 2 more supers awaiting extraction
tomorrow . I'm trying to decide how much I need to hold for our use ,
that will determine how much I can sell . I wasn't expecting having any
at all to sell , since I focused this year on increasing my hive count -
the saying "You can make bees or make honey , not both." is apparently
only true sometimes ... And once again the honey is very light with a
very delicate flavor . I bees a very happy beekeeper tonight .

Update - this was supposed to go out last night on eternal-september
, they must be having problems .

The extraction is finished , total harvest was just over 5 gallons .
I lost probably a gallon to wax moths , I didn't have things sealed up
as well as I thought and a moth got in and laid some eggs . Ruined about
4 frames of comb for human consumption so the bees will get that honey
back .

I have made that with honey. Damn that was good stuff. My understanding is that the real stuff is with a simple syrup - not honey. Well okay then.

Let us know how it works out. ;-)

I had a friend that made mead. Just as Pernod leaves a touch of
licorice on your lips, mead leaves a taste of honey. It was delicious,
and I've never had or seen it sold since.
Mead might not be a bad idea. I would buy a bottle of the mead that he
made for fifty bucks. So google it folks. It won't be the mead that I
tasted.
Hmm..."I" just googled mead, and many Amazon meads start with NV. I
wonder if he went into business? I'm sure he'd love to see his old
college roommate of fifty years ago show up to "help him" with his
business.
Right?

And the streets shall be paved with baklava.

was pretty darn good.

Â* Mead has been on my mind ... I considered it before I had bees but
decided then that the cost was more than I wanted to spend . Now that
I've got "free" honey ... I need to check out some recipes .

At one school where my wife taught there was a Greek family and the
mother used to send her baklava once in a while. She had an Armenian
co-worker who made it, but in a different style.

I have made it a few times but don't bother anymore because I have
issues with nuts. I occasionally make Galaktoboriko instead. It is the
same idea with the sheets of buttered phylo, and the syrup added at the
end, but the filling is a rich, sweet custard.

There will be calories in heaven. What there won't be is gravity. This will allow the inhabitants to float and grow to the size of blimps. If folks on earth get any bigger, we're probably going to have to move back to the ocean and evolve into whales.

Life would be a lot easier if humans lived in the ocean - but not on top.

Yuck! Given I don't like any tea now, I doubt I will find that attractive
