if anyone cares to watch it. The actual contest is at the end of
the hour. I'll probably watch it. I'm easily amused and still
boggled that anyone could possibly eat that many in just 10

Yes, I saw that. I won't watch because it makes me want to gag, but some
people must enjoy it or it wouldn't be so popular. BTW, I don't really care
for the "uncured" that a lot of the hot dog makers are putting out either. I
like Caspers the best.

Nathans at the market are not the same as at Coney, not even close.
Hebrew National are no longer the same as they were 40 years ago... I
don't even believe the Hebrew Nationals sold at stupidmarkets are
kosher, they absolutely can't be kosher when sold from the same case
as non-kosher and from a non-kosher store. When I was a kid Hebrew
National products were only sold from kosher delis/butchers... also
Isaac Gellis and Shofar brands which I thought were better. Kosher
dawgs were terrible once they were sold packaged... originally they
were sold loose and string tied betwwen each link and always in
natural casings. Kosher salami and balogna was never sold packaged
either... now it's all Fake kosher... save your money!

Perhaps the contest uses cocktail franks... it's somehow gotta be
fixed, no human can eat 72 full sized dawgs with rolls... maybe they
have a port installed at the distal end of their esophogus with a
plastic bag attached because no human stomach can hold 72 dawgs, let
alone 72 rolls... even the dwarf as big as he is can't eat more than
10 dawgs. I'll bet Smith's Big Niece can't eat a dozen dawgs with
rolls.
Hotdogs weigh what, 2 ounces each, typically 8 to the pound.... means
72 hot dogs weigh 9 pounds. Can anyone here eat a 9 pound boneless
rib roast? In ten minutes? Even in ten hours?
Eight cheapo hot dog rolls weigh 12 ounces... 72 rolls means that's
nearly seven pounds of bread, like four large loaves. All together
thats sixteen pounds of food.

I haven't eaten a patty melt in thirty years. I loved them. Why did I

That cook on bread is for people who are low in their carbon intake. Carbon is a very important dietary mineral and most people are a bit low on their carbon intake.
