Default Ketchup wars?

Some weeks go Swertz mentioned that he bought some Heinz mayo. It is a
new product for them and they have been advertising it heavily.

I got an email from my supermarket for Free Friday. The freebie this
week is Hellmans Ketchup. I guess this is some retaliation for the mayo
intrusion.

I got my free bottle, but I won't need it for a few weeks. I'm looking
forwar to trying it though. I like the Heinz Simply ketchup with sugar
instead of corn syrup. Hellmans uses honey as sweetener.

Our six simple and delicious ingredients €“ tomato puree, honey, white
wine vinegar, salt, onion powder, and spices €“ are all non-GMO sourced.

Now that I don't have a lot of teens around, I use very little ketchup. I
think I tried Hellman's in some restaurant. Only thing I use it for is fries
and I don't eat those often.

I LOVE Hellman's original Mayo, but I'd not buy any of the rest of their crap! Hellman's is just trying to expand their product line to GROW rather than just sticking with what they do best which is make THE BEST Mayo on The Market!

Hellmans's is not expanding their product line in my neck of the woods
(Canada) yet! A few years back, Heinz 'intruded' into the mustard market
here! This was formerly dominated by 'French's'! So then French's got into
the ketchup business! An informal poll of my aquaintances puts them as the
winner of both!

That might not be statistically significant! Then again there are people
here like my wife, who prefers Miracle Whip over mayonaisse! I keep telling
her we should only buy mayo, and she can just add sugar to it if she wants!

My mother was one of those who insisted on Miracle Whip. It was what I
grew up with and what I was used to. My wife, OTOH, insists on mayonnaise.

Same here, I like both.

How about if one likes [insert brand] mayonnaise and the other likes
Miracle Whip you each get what you like?

No point in having both. My preference switched. I don't use a lot of
it so whatever mayo we get does the job. Every once in a while, when I I
figure it will be used up quickly, I will make a batch of mayo. Even
the worst batch of home made is better than the best commercial mayo.

Oh goody, more Miracle Whip/Mayo wars. Simple solution: Why not buy
both? That way everyone's happy when they open the fridge looking for
the ubiquitous "mayo". You don't have to buy huge jars/containers.

There ya go! In the past I've bought travel sized containers of shampoo
& conditioner that were exactly like that. Conjoined containers. Two
different spouts. There's no reason they couldn't do it with condiments.

Probably. I don't go looking for things like that.

That's what businesses do. Do you plan on selling only one type of candy?

Hell, he doesn't even sell *one* type of candy.
